I finally got to use this attachment and it cut better than I thought. I cut through thick sword grass with ease. Also made some clean cuts threw small samplings along the way, sweet! A string trimmer would have not cut those samplings. The only down sight, I will say that the cutter head has some weight compared to the string trimmer. So if your like me, lifting the head up to cut small low hanging branches, it’s going to be a workout. I don’t mind, but some folks would probably not. Easy fix, just don’t prune with it. The battery lasted about the same, but it will depend on how thick the grass is. I had some very dense patches that the battery and cutter had to work extra hard. I would highly recommend this item if your yard has lots of thick grasses.

Lot to unpack with this product. First and foremostEven being as careful as possible i've broke 1500$ worth of windows with my regular trimmer. So this product will save me 5 times what windows will cost in the future. Nothing is ever thrown by the scissor trimmer.I have a Honda handle bar trimmer with a quick replace string head. Thick stalk weeds snap string like candy.I see this product like the rabbit and turtle. This scissor trimmer is slower, but actually wins the race as you dont need to waste time looking for string cutting string and rethreading string or looking for tools to help mess with string.trimming sucks but this thing is satisfying cause your working 100% of the time now no messing around.Its loud i wear ear buds cause the engine is also loud either with string or with scissor.it takes power to run this I would not even consider putting this on a battery trimmer. Even if it can be done its gonna zap batteries and put heavy strain on the electronics. I would say this is for gas trimmers only.The instructions are confusing or terrible or both. IF you are reading this pay attention. It says comes with a sleeve already installed. measure tube use correct sleeve. What this should say is dont mess with the sleeve that was installed and add another sleeve that matches your tube measurement basically you must add 2 sleeves to keep it installed and tight. It should not move at all and the side screw has a sharp point to bite on your tube if its loose you will tear up your tube wobble and even potentially fall off .All in all this is hands down the best trimmer attachment i have ever used. The biggest con is its almost as expensive as the trimmer itself.

Installed on Ego multi head system and it was very easy to install. Had read reveiws about how loud this item is and they were right. Hearing protection is a must. I bought this to reduce damage to the bottom of my shadow box sytle privacy fence. It is great for this application. I do find that it takes me a little longer to trim with this than a string trimmer, but the results are amazing. Even though the height of cut is a little shorter than I would prefer, the results are amazing. Almost eliminated the scalping issue that I had with my string trimmer. The scissor cut also eliminates the brown tips on the trimmed grass. I think that I will love this as I get more experience using it.

I bought this product to keep grass from getting into my swimming pool when I edged. It was very effective, however it is extremely heavy. This product has to be used, in my opinion, with a strap on your back. I could not use this over 10 minutes due to the weight. It did not throw grass into my pool. It did, however, have problems trimming next to the limestone coping and the stone wall around the pool. Great concept just to me it’s not practical because of the weight and the inability to edge effectively against smooth surfaces.

This thing isn't worth the money. It really does scalp the hell out of the grass depending on what kind you have. I can definitely say it is NoT worth the money.

If you mow low, especially warm season grasses, then this is a MUST for matching your edges with the rest of the lawn. These things get down, without getting you dirty. Nothing to fly up, nothing gets flung back at you, nice and neat.Simple install on my Ego trimmer attachment...10 minutes and I was using them. Best investment in my Bermuda lawn arsenal, outside of a powered reel mower.

I run a STIHL KombiSystem, so I bought an extra trimmer shaft to mount this on (so my string trimmer is still an option). I use mine in place of the edger and in most cases in place of the string trimmer. You can cut super close to the ground, and go all the way around your buildings without having to stop to re-wind string. Hitting rocks is not a problem, and you need not fear tossing rocks at cars etc. when working in gravel driveways.The ONLY thing it doesn't do well is toss tall grass clear of the blades. For that I still prefer the string trimmer head.
