Regency Rectangular Standard Table Top, 72 x 24, Cherry/Maple

I needed a "special size" table for my electronics workbench. It needed to be larger than the typical table - 30 x 66 is what I needed. I discovered that was a fairly standard size, but most of the tables in that size were very expensive, with either adjustable height or motorized height adjustment. I was going to have a friend "build" me one from plywood (yuck), but then I discovered this product. I put it on top of a smaller 2' x 4' desk, with room along the side for a 3 shelf storage area and more. It is really a beautiful piece - I think mahogany on one side and cherry on the other. It fit perfectly, is easy to move (to put wires behind, for example), and my special shelves for parts fit on the back and still gave me 24" of work area. The top is covered with an anti-static blue pad, except on the ends, where I have a digital microscope and storage. Lots of LED lights. I love it! Perfectly flat, smooth, beautiful (although I don't see a lot of the surface... :) It sure is a great product!

The desk is beautiful once you get past the giant cracked edge that was caused during delivery. It really looked like they put some thought into the packaging as the corners were very reinforced and well protected. However when you have a 6 foot long and heavy table top you really need to reinforce the padding on the edges, especially the long edges. The delivery people look like they dropped the long edge of my table top on a rail as the impact was only on about a 3 inch span that caused a large crack on the side. It is way to cumbersome to repackage and send back so I put the cracked part on the backside. I wish they would hold the delivery people accountable. I was home when it was delivered and you wouldn't even know it. It was like the driver very stealthily placed it at my front door and ran. Reminded me of a ding dong ditch prank. It was like he knew he broke it and didn't want to deal with the immediate return as you could see a significant impact on the exact spot on the box where the top was cracked. Other than that I love the dark walnut color.

My table top did have a small chip. However, I had purchased marble contact paper to put on top of the undamaged side. The table top is huge & very sturdy. Great for the price & arrived at my home several days sooner than expected.

Do not order this item! Complete waste of time and multiple exchanges because they arrive damaged over & over. The first table top arrived both damage and defective. The black laminated edge wasn’t put on perfectly and there was particle board showing on the edge. One of the corners was damaged in shipping and there was a horrible impact to the center side of the table. I chose to have it replaced with the same item and that one arrived damaged in the center and light damage to one corner. If you look closely at the edges of some of these table tops, the black edge isn’t applied to the tabletops in a precise manner. Some table tops have many imperfections along the edge. I was actually going to try exchanging it a 3rd time, but it’s like they blacked me from purchasing it. Now the item says it can’t be delivered to my address. Don’t waste your time, looks for a different brand or seller.

I wanted a table top that was 72" long but all of the options at IKEA (including the kitchen counter tops) were only 24" deep. This one is 30" deep which is perfect. I ordered this coupled with the stiffeners. I saw in the reviews that a lot of people got their table tops banged up, but mine was in perfect shape with no chips, scratches, dents, etc. The corners were well padded when they came to deliver it. Also, if you do happen to receive it damaged, Amazon will arrange a pickup and replace it for you free of charge. So if anyone is feeling apprehensive about ordering this, don't, just do it and if you did get unlucky, try again for free! I love this table top and the color is amazing.I also ordered two stiffener brackets to provide additional support as I am using it for a triple monitor computer setup.

I enjoy the table and will still be using it because I can hide the damage, however it is disappointing it was this damaged upon arrival in the corners

Very lightly packaged nothing inbetween the product and the cardboard box. My son accepted the package with a few dings in the cardboard, and to my great disappointment there is a dime size piece of the laminate scraped off where the ding was. It is too big and cumbersome to return, so we are using it damaged, but I am not happy. It was supposed to be his first large desk top for his room.

table top was delivered in a timely fashion, but was damaged. quarter size chip on edge of "maple" side, still attached, and still usable for my needs. "Cherry" side melamine is cracked right down the middle with a concave bow, looks like someone may have stepped on the package at some point. If I were using it as a stand-alone table top, it would be unusable (and returned). because I am attaching it to an existing work surface, with the "maple" side up, the chip will be fine, the crack will be hidden on the underside, and the bow will be straightened by screwing the top to the existing bench top. Nice product, but not treated nicely...
