Very nice tool
I would've liked for it to go a bit smaller on the range for capacitance (maybe one mode for 20 pico farads) so I could properly read small ceramic caps but I couldn't have asked for more off this cheap and versatile DMM. Very happy with what I got.

leads too loose would not read inductance
was not able to read any coils for inductance, leads would not make contact with the meter, would read if you held down on leads some times. but I did not alway have a free hand to devote to lead holding so I returned the meter

MS8269 Traditional DMM with LCR
I purchased this unit mostly because of quick field diagnostic LCR range with max 20H combined together with standard options. Capacitance is only from nano to 200 micro so basic but is there. Internal fuse (except 10 Amp range un-fused) is self-resetable as well so at this point not having it auto-range is irrelevance besides the convenience issue considering you know what you are checking and if not then no pain. You get strong case, separate 9 volt battery compartment with spring loaded connectors held by metal threaded screw in brass insert, system board is clean (yes, I had to look at the guts as well), well shielded. Continuity is with that scratchy sound, not alike my "expensive" meters, but for some purposes I do like it and use it, like checking potentiometers from audio equipment for worn-out track. I found inside on the unit's board few spots of resin deposit here and there, but all main parts are surface mount with some understandable exceptions. I checked measurement again couple of known calibrated meters, then one fancy RMS and oscilloscope. All pass within specifications including capacitance and inductance. IF they weren't, unit appears adjustable within reason, but I did not have to go there. One nice thing - hFE and temperature are on separate plug-in module which is to me an indication of good technology and logical planning. Also, the on/off switch on the unit is not sticking out - another indication of good thinking on the part of the designer. Hold function is certainly not capture type, just the screen freeze - if you want active one, then cough out few hundred bucks and say hello to FLUKE 87 or it's close relatives. Over whole, this MS8269 meter is good value, appears sturdy and works well for the money paid. Very good tool for diag on audio amps, power supplies including printers also standard communications relays and other things medium. In case you need IC work it is good for a field work but not enough for bench, and if you look for A/C units and larger equipment tests, then you know what you need - good clamp-on and dedicated LCR with 20-40 mF range. For all those that are looking for a gift ideal for Handy-Man in the house you may consider this one or MS 8229 for 20 bucks more MOL. I have been in electronic business for a while and trust me - there is nothing more embarrassing then fried diagnostic tool caused by the so called "operator error". LOL When you need to check user manual for spec details, go to Sinometer website - prior it used to be under Mastech so some search engines on the Internet may still give you Mastech link for information.

It's Okay
I guess I can refer to the saying "You get what you pay for".One day I needed a meter to measure inductance and my amazon search took me to this product. The price was great for all the features that this multimeter had, and the best thing was that it had the option that I needed. I received the product in two days (THANK YOU AMAZON PRIME) and put it to the test, this is where my three stars come from. The leads did not fit good on the connections and I had to ask my partner to put pressure on the leads in order to get a reading. The AMP meter wasn't too precise compared to my FLUKE. The deal breaker was the inductance meter, sometimes the reading was too high sometimes too low and not reliable. If you are looking for a multimeter to measure voltage and current and you are just doing home electricity this item could be a great multimeter. If you are working with electronic devices that need exact reading, I suggest to spend the extra money and get a FLUKE

Died after 2 weeks. Bummer!
Worked exceptionally well for the price, then after 2 weeks, suddenly the readout just came up with 16666.666 on all settings. Changed battery and same result. I used all aspects of this meter on low power PCB circuits, passive parts, etc, NO TESTING AC mains current or any hi Voltage stuff.Would be a good deal but, alas , I was warned that you get what you pay for.THANKFULLY Amazon has my back covered with a good and easy return procedures..

Excellent!
I checked it out for voltage, current, resistance, capacitance and inductance measurements, and it is plenty accurate for my use as a hobbyist. And it measures millivolt voltages in very low current (10^-5 mA) circuits -- which I have not been able to do with any other meter I've tried to do that with.

Great for the serious hobbyist
Great for taking measurements of components when salvaging them from old PC boards. Saves me from purchasing new components.

Poor
Product arrived with loose and intermittent test sockets. The test leads fitted badly. Several other issues surfaced during acceptance testing. HFE and temperature modes were unresponsive, either measuring 000 or 19 degrees Celsius (with or without the temperature probe) . Did manage to measure inductance after jiggling the leads but values moved all other the place. I may be unlucky and this may just be a dud but it raises questions about the Quality Control. Even though it is low cost does not mean it should be of low quality. Returned it for a refund.
