Most of the bad reviews come from not following the EASY TO FOLLOW directions
I purchased this product to hold my kitchen appliances as the previous shelving I had purchased was way too wobbly, even when weight was added. This product works great for that purpose. The shelving can hold my 6.5 quart mixer, my 2 lb loaf bread maker, my 2-3 person George Forman Grill, my 0.7 cu ft microwave, my full size single serving waffle maker, my 5 qt blender, and I still have two shelves available for food or other items that I may purchase in the future.I am a disabled man with a back injury. It took me just under 20 minutes to put the shelving together, move my stuff off the old shelving, place the new shelving where the old shelving was, and reshelf all of my kitchen appliances. I did all of this by myself. The directions are easy to follow. Those who complain about the shelving having support bars on top of the shelves that make it difficult to store things put their shelving together upside down. One of the 40 pieces of connectors came with extra plastic on it, like the mold did not completely seal. Fortunately, they provided two extras and I only needed one of the extras. The poles can be a little tricky to align...it has to be just right or the connectors do not fit in well. However, with a little patience, it is not that difficult to do.My only complaint with the shelving is that it does not come with a liner. I will be purchasing that from a local store in the next day or two. Then again, most wire frame shelving does not come with a liner unless it is an add-on, so I cannot ding the product for that.Overall, I am pleased with the ease of assembly, the time commitment, the sturdiness of the shelving, the spacing between the shelves (which is not adjustable), and the look. I use similar shelves for my books and other items in my living room (just bigger) and it matches well with those.I highly recommend the shelves.

PERFECT HOME OFFICE STORAGE SHELVING! Brilliant Design!
This had all the features I was looking for to provide personal office storage for banker's boxes etc. It is a very well designed and made product, which is fully sturdy enough for storing file boxes of paperwork, or other normal household items. Don't expect to put a bunch of maxed out shop toolboxes or weight room equipment on it. There ARE appropriate shop units available for these purposes. After assembling this unit, I told my husband - "This is brilliantly designed!"Reviewers indicated a number of issues with assembling this unit, I found that all of them have simple solutions!Read the instructions first! They are clear and understandable. The PLASTIC SPACER BRACKETS - there were complaints of them popping off and flying across the room.SIMPLE FIX - this happened to me when there was a slight misalignment of the holes in the outer and inner poles. Simply give them a very slight twist, until the spacer brackets stay put. Don't expect the brackets to snap together - a misconception I originally had when examining the parts before assembling the unit.POLE SIZE DIFFERENCES - Check to make sure you are using your labeled A, B, B, & C poles in their proper place. But, there WERE a couple of poles that DIDN'T QUITE FIT inside of the top of the receiving pole, due to very size differences, or perhaps a slight malformation. That was EASILY REMEDIED by putting the misfit pole inside of a different receiving pole, where it dropped in easily, securely, and with the proper vertical alignment. Each step of the way, make sure all of your plastic spacer brackets fit correctly, make sure that each of your upper poles fit correctly, and to the proper depth inside of the receiving pole. Settle the upper pole down firmly into the receiving pole, which occasionally required a bit of firm pushing. Nothing beyond the capacity of a 'mature' female.A patient, detail oriented installation of each connection resulted in a sturdy unit, which stands flat, and provides exactly the height and size measurements for banker-box storage, or whatever your household purpose might be!My husband even asked if we wanted another of these units for the guest room closet! We are 100% happy with this choice.

Decent shelves for the money
I hunted through Amazon, read SO many reviews, and finally opted for this shelf. I needed the taller shelves, and I didn't want those lips all the way around because I wanted to be able to slide bins on and off easily -- this shelf system fit the bill. It also fit my small space, and my budget.Assembly wasn't bad, but you do need to read the instructions (and a few reviews) to do it right. Make sure you follow the correct process or you will have to start over. It's not SUPER sturdy or strong, but for the money, it is a good value. I am storing macrame cord and craft supplies on it, and it is holding well, but I'm careful not to load each shelf with too much weight. It is not meant for excessive weight -- you will have to spend more if you need that. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase.

Little garbage nightmare in a little garbage box
Firstly, the box..... it's like.... a child packaged it? An angry child, perhaps.I without a doubt received a returned item. And call me crazy, but I think they shipped it straight from that person's house to mine. Because it's not repackaged at all. The box itself is smashed and torn. All the individual piece packaging is ripped or zip ties have been cut open, styrofoam bits snowing everywhere, the poles are just rolling around in there loose, jangling merrily from my porch to my kitchen. Some of the little black pieces that go on the shelves are literally shattered and scattered around the box? It's broken. It sucks. I am returning it.For info on the actual product. I just don't think this thing could possibly really be rated for 66 lbs per shelf. It seems so cheap. Someone said theirs wasn't metal and I can say mine is in fact metal.... but I (petite woman who hasn't been to a gym in 3 years) could EASILY bend it. As for ease of putting it together, I saw one review said it was impossible and I mean.... if you're not a complete dolt, you can figure it out. I admit I have put these types of shelves together before so I know what I'm doing, but still. It's so easy. Regardless, it's garbage.
