Good for propane use, worth the money in general
I need the propane option and use that all the time. ( I roast green coffee beans). I have two other stoves, which do not work for this purpose. One is butane only and is too expensive. The second is a cheap version by gas one, like this. I do not recommend that stove for two reasons: it has a hose to connect to the propane instead of metal. The hose seems dangerous. Also it is rated at lower BTU because the burner has fewer holes and is cheaper construction. That makes it hard to control and wasteful. This one works very well for me with propane. Attaching the adapter is a little funky. There is a notch that has to match up, but once you get that, it feels safe. The burner has many more holes, giving much better flame control and better heat output.I do not recommend any other propane version, for safety reasons. No rubber hoses! This one costs more, but if you need the functionality, it is worth it. And just a note. For cold weather use, Propane is much better than butane because butane does not vaporize below 31 F. In other words if the cylinder gets a little below freezing, it will not work. This is not true for propane.

Works fantastic, just buy it
We have been using this stove for 2 camping seasons. It's a really nice unit! 15k BTU output is real! We run the propane regulator to a hose into a T fitting to run both our little Blackstone and this little guy off a single 5gal propane tank. I would buy this again in a heartbeat for camping use.

Propane adapter. Portable.
A must have for campers or in using in cold temperatures. I mainly bought this for the propane adapter. In colder tanks the butane cans can’t handle and fire is weak. With the propane adapter I was able to add those 16oz tanks and works effortlessly in the cold.Used when winter camping and ice fishing.

Easy to use puts out plenty of heat
It gets plenty hot and im able to cook a meal for 4 on it the same as my normal front right burner. I haven't tried it in the 'elements' but on a normal not windy day it does well. Propane hook up is easy and it comes with the adapter for 1lb tanks. Ive only used 1 butane can and 1 propane 1lb bottle sofar.

So far so good!
This is an important item in my trip! This item is on the heavy side at just over 4 pounds. However, I am taking a 12 yr old boy into the wilderness, and did not want to be responsible for starting the next forest fire because the stove tipped over while cooking breakfast, just because we wanted to save a few ounces of weight. So erroring on the safe side, we went with a bigger and more conventional style burner, something the kid is more familiar with! However. when the item arrived and we took it out of the box, we were immediately disappointed to notice that the plastic case that holds the stove was not properly put together. The hinges were not put together at all in fact. What was worse, one of the locking clips to the case is broken. The case will not stay closed properly. this is a little bit of a problem for us on our trip as we were hoping to keep everything nice and tidy. With the case slightly open, things rattle a bit more then normal. This will allow water and the outside environment to ingress into the case and stove when not in use. This is not acceptable! I would have given 5 stars but with a broken case latch, I just cant. The stove appears to be of working order, I have yet to get fuel for it and test. Another item noted was the cover for the butane fuel canister is a bit warped and doesn't close completely. This is a cosmetic issue not a functional issue. We believe the flame and heat of 15k BTU will be plenty. This stove ought to be able to cook any meal in short order! It has a nice size burner, comparable to that of the standard stove top that will accommodate most any size skillet or pot. I have not had the opportunity to test the burn rate to know how fast this is going to burn through fuel to boil water or cook a meal.I considered other stoves of similar style. However they were of lessor BTU output, and time and effort are of importance to a bikepacker and hiker, even if it is heavy! The cost was was not that much more for what we were getting. We will attempt to give a better review within the next 4 months as we put this product through daily use on a multistate back country bikepacking trip. Wish us luck!

Awesome stove.
You buy this stove because you need 15,000BTUs of heat. So I need to boil half a Dutch oven of canola oil to 375°. This burner will do that. you certainly want to use propane to do that. If you use a can of butane you’re gonna blow through half to three-quarter to cook four chicken breast. Which is not a problem because butane has less heat than liquid natural gas or better known as propane.

Compact powerhouse. I love this burner and take it everywhere.

Worth the upgrade.
Total upgrade from the 8,000 BTU model. As that one gets water to boil at 3~4 minutes, this model only does it in under 2 1/2 minutes. Worth the 15,000 BTU and compact size. This thing murders for my camping/offroad/roadtrip peeps.
