Queen Nuc Box Bee Mating Nuc Foam Beehive Portable Queen Cage Mini Queen Rearing Boxes for Beekeeping

These boxes are tiny and I had some reservations about if they would work. I bought them for next year, but two weeks ago I ended up with a bonus queen (long story) so I moved a virgin queen into the nuc. I screwed up the first day by leaving it too close to the source hive so most of the nurse bees were able to find home. Later in the afternoon I added more nurse bees and closed the hive for a day. The queen mated and a week later started laying eggs in the mini nuc.Stuff to be aware of...1). The place to add pollen in the top works great, just make sure you open the hole so they can get at it.2). The place to add syrup will drown bees so add stuff that floats. Leave the Queen excluder cage in place over that area (I removed it thinking it would give the bees better access, The queen tried to go swimming).3). I added a little wax to the frames and the bees liked that. I also pinched a tiny piece of comb to help them start building.

Received on time with extra parts. I did not expect the Styrofoam to be as sturdy as it is. I will order again.

The bottom piece was missing from one and the other one had a cracked top
