Value Reflection Cards

This card deck is mostly for personal use. There are only the vaguest instructions and no useful info provided in the deck or on an accompanying website. The only way to use this with a larger group is to buy multiple sets of cards. This is not intended to be a DIY product that can be adapted by teachers and others for a variety of lessons and activities. The seller was responsive to my note, but provided very little additional information in return.

I found these cards useful for both individual values exploration as well as for use in team settings. They can be used a variety of ways: as an icebreaker, for teambuilding and setting team expectations; and in bringing a new leader into an organization. I found them really helpful, and will try to use them on an annual basis to review and clarify our organizational values.

This “card deck” can be used in a number of different ways. I can see individuals using it as a tool for reflection on their individual core values. It can also be used as an ice-breaker for teams to discover common values. Good value for this creative and fun tool.

We used these as a team building exercise at work and I fell in love with them. I have since used them in various workshops to demonstrate our unique value as individuals as well as the power of language when we simply change a word that has meaning to someone else. No matter how I have seen them used, they bring power, learning, fun and interaction to workshops. Thank you

I discovered these wonderful cards almost a year ago and have continued to create new uses for them in my multiple enterprises. They served as a wonderful focus exercise during a Board Retreat that I designed; then proved to be invaluable as a teaching tool during an ethics class that I teach; lastly, I used them in an unanticipated manner during a recent coming-of-age ritual for an individual seeking clarification on life goals. In every instance, people responded with enormous enthusiasm to the prospect of "playing" their way to insight. I take the cards with me to use in a pinch when I need some fun activity to raise the energy of the group. I recommend them very highly!

I am the Principal of a small business called Mindful Living Productions whose mission is promoting holistic health through the creative arts. I have found the Value Reflection Cards to be an essential business tool. As an educator, I've used the value cards with university students to help them identify their personal values in preparation for entering the job market. In inter-generational groups, I've seen the sharing of values bridge differences in ages and backgrounds. I intend to continue to use the cards in my workshops, retreats, and personal coaching to support a holistic approach to living and working. Research shows that when people are aligned with their values they are happier and more productive. Uses are limitless! I participated in a group where the Value Reflection Cards were used to demonstrate how people can quickly evaluate and determine their own core values and what is important to them as individuals. The group of about 30-40 professionals were deftly taken through an exercise of continually refining their `value' priorities along with a discussion of how those values related to work, work style, employee selection, motivation and retention issues, leadership and employer's core values. The session was engaging from start to finish and the Value Reflection Cards proved a very useful tool in getting energetic participation from everyone in the room.
