I drive off road quite a bit. Nothing real serious, just getting around a tree farm. I have an older Durango that I bought just for this purpose because it is small and has a tight turning radius and isn't so tall that I have to climb up into it. The downside of not being very tall is that it is easy to drag the trailer hitch and damage the wiring connector. This seems to do the trick. It would be nice if it was a couple of inches wider so that the connector was fully covered. I liked it so much, I bought one for my suburban too.

Not completely welded,and only side of the hitch pin holes were cut,making it useless. It is heavy duty and nice,but useless,. I will be returning tommarow.

I added a hitch just so I could use this as a step on the back of my 2-door 2023 wildtrak bronco. The factory "bumper" is all plastic so you can't really step on it. Also works as a skid and possibly absorbing/redirecting mild rear-enders if someone is distracted on their cel phone behind you. But hopefully I won't be testing that feature ever.

This skid plate is heavier than expected. It provides the coverage desired. I'm yet to to put it through the paces but it's there for just in case and my peace of mind.

If you have a 2019 ram 1500 with back up sensors, you must remove this for them to work again
