Obtain a soft, diffused continuous light for your portraits and fashion shots with the OctaLux LED Light from Genaray. By using 240 LEDs with a rated CRI of 89, this daylight-balanced 5500K light source will be able to accurately and easily illuminate your subject all while keeping heat to a minimum. LEDs are ideal for lengthy shoots because of this and can be used closer to subjects. This 10.75" diameter circular fixture also has a long lifetime and has a physical dimmer dial on the back for changing the output from 10-100%. The housing can hold up to demanding environments and LEDs will easily last longer than equivalent fluorescent or tungsten bulbs. Taking softness to the next level, the OctaLux comes with a 31.5" octabox and three separate diffusion attachments: a diffusion cap that slips right on the light head along with inner and front diffusers for the softbox. All can be used with or without the others depending on your specific needs. The softbox is simple to set up as the light has an integrated speed ring and the fixture has a 5/8" mount with tilt adjustment for setting up on standard light stands. Additionally, an AC power adapter is included as well as a removable handle for added control over light placement. Powerful, ruggedly built, and perfect for interviews
As a videographer I evolved from a set of powerful quartz-halogen floods, to fluorescent "shop" lighting, and now...finally, to LED. I ordered this Genaray OctaLux "system" just two days before I was scheduled to film an important interview. It's surprisingly solid and very well engineered, in fact the entire outer structure is made of thick aluminum. I found out why a few minutes later, it's because you have to use super-human strength to install the eight long metal ribs that support the (excellent) soft box.Pretty much everybody who films people knows that LED's have to be diffused during indoor interviews. That's why this system is so effective. It's very powerful and comes with three levels of softening. I've attached a video grab from the interview I mentioned. This Genaray unit was five feet off to the left of my subject - who was perfectly illuminated by its 5500K light, at just about 1/4 of it's maximum brightness. All of us were very impressed, and it was the VERY FIRST time we'd used an LED as our main light.Thank you - Robert Marcos StudiosLa Quinta, California
