If you have a newer iMac, this is a must have! I have a 2023 iMac with M3 chip. It's a great computer, but it does NOT come with a card reader of any kind. In addition, all 4 of the built in data ports are on the back of the machine and not easily accessed. This device plugs in to two ports on the back and wraps around to the front, giving you easy access to two USB-3 ports, two USB-C ports, an SD card reader and a MicroSD card reader on the front, plus an HDMI port on the back. I'm a professional photographer/videographer and I am pulling information off of SD and/or MicroSD cards on a daily basis. In addition, I use external drives for data storage. The 4 USB-C ports on the back were not cutting it for my needs. This simple plug and play device has made it really easy to utilize other portable drives, cards, etc.Pros:- Easy to use. This product, with the 1 Thunderbolt back, does work with my 2024 24" iMac! I was worried that it wouldn't, but am very happy with the look and function. Installation is tricky, but the video provided is most helpful, DO watch it. I can now continue to use my old printer and portable scanner, that had USB 2 connections.

Sometimes the connect sucks so I have to unplug it and plug my cord directly into the computer and then it works. I love that it faces towards me for easy access and the idea is genius. Just wish it was a little better connection.

No more reaching behind computer for access. Has tiny light to show power on. Makes you wonder if built that way to sell a extra piece, but works well.

I've had this hub for about three months, and anything I plug into it may not stay connected to the mac. It will work fine for a bit, but if there's any slight movement of a cable going into it there is a good chance the connection to the computer will end.Update: Seller gave me a full refund, so I'm updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars.

All good and as I age, so much to learn - I depend now at 82 on tech support to guide me and this works perfect for what I needed.
