Meade Instruments 07384 Canon EOS Camera T-Mount (Black)

I took my first celestial photograph last night ... I got a great shot of Jupiter with two of her moons and a nice array of other stars in the background. two more weeks a Jupiter will be close enough to see the some of the planet's characteristic markings (I can't wait). I also am looking forward to the 1st quarter and full moon - I got some very good photos with the telephoto lens but now using the telescope - WOW!Without the Meade 07384 Canon EOS Camera T-Mount (and ETX Camera Adapter #64 - which you MUST have to use the camera) I wold not be able to shot photos through my telescope. Easy, out of the box use ... essentially just screw it on, focus and shot! Do keep in mind that you have to shot in Manual - the telescope is essentially a very big lens. You also must have a very stable tripod or other foundation and I would recommend a wired or wireless shutter release remote. The slightest vibration will negatively effect your photo.I've attached the photo that I took last night - hopefully you can see it (zoom in if possible). Equipment: Canon T3, MEADE ETX (Maksutov–Cassegrain), heavy duty telescope tripod, wired remote shutter release. Shutter speed about 1/4 and ISO 1600 to 6400.

Please understand, in order to mount a camera to a telescope, you will also need a T-adapter. The Camera T-mount is a ring that locks into the lens port of your camera. It is threaded to allow the T-adapter to be attached, then the T-adapter is threaded onto the scope, completing the mount.

Perfect for my Canon EOS 70D, fit it tight, just a little difficult to remove due to the locking pin not wanting to release once you need to remove the adapter but there is a small window where you can insert a a straight pin in order to depress the locking pin.Great product would buy again, if needed to. Great shipping came in a Meade box inside a manila envelope and it was delivered on a Sunday, to my door, by the US Postal Service.

Product is well made and fits smoothly. Appears durable.

So, First off the build quality is good, it's metal, it's heavy, I like it. What I don't like is the fact that I couldn't attach any lenses to it because the grub screws weren't included/already in the adapter (God knows what size they are), so the inner part of the adapter just spins. Not good.

Perfect fit for a EOS T1i. If it is used for a ETX-125. You will need a 45 degree adapter. This will allow you to get higher in the sky with the telescope.Should not be an issue with the other lines of Meade telescopes.

Fits perfectly on my eos 70d !
