It works great and is pricey.
It's expensive. But it's worth it in the time it'll save from not having to crack stuff open and re-solder jacks. I don't regret buying it. It's a well made and clever specialty tool I will use often. I'm using an old eyeglasses case to keep the tools together, but it'd been nice if this tool came with a zipped pouch or even a drawstring bag to keep the pieces together. It's already expensive based on the brilliance of implementation alone. Why not 'seal' the deal and include a storage solution?

Works perfectly, every guitarist should have this tool.
Bought this to tighten the jack on my Telecaster and it worked just as they described. Now I have friends asking to borrow it. Every guitarist should have one handy. You never know when that jack might come loose.

Thank You, Mr. Ford!
I'm not a luthier by any means, but I do all of my own setups, fret dressing, the occasional re-neck, wiring and maintenance on my guitar collection. While a standard socket/box-end wrench is fine for use on solid body guitars where you have easy access to the back of the jack frame, hollow body guitars are another story, especially those whose only access to the jack/electronics are via F holes.I just completed a full electronic component replacement and rewire of my ES-335 and my Ibanez Artcore jazz box and this tool made it easy to get the jacks on both guitars secured. Yes, at ~$50 the tool is expensive, but it's a quality tool that should last a lifetime and even if you only use it a handful of times on your own guitars, the amount of frustration it saves when working on hollow body guitars is worth it's weight in gold. Thanks to Frank Ford for this ingenious tool!

Works !
No more bringing guitars to the repair shop to sit for a week for the same cost if this tool each time. I fixed three Stratocaster jacks and one ES 35 in the first 5 minutes of unpacking this tool. A 50 year old design flaw is corrected in seconds. Highly recommend! The stew Mac version of this. The included socket fits inside the recessed jack plate without problems.

Gripper works, sockets too thick
The gripper tool works but the included 1/2 and 12 mm sockets are too thick to fit into my PRS SE Silver Sky. Will have to buy a thinner-walled socket. For the price, seems like a more appropriate socket could have been included

Jack be Tight and Sound Alright
Had a problem with my Epiphone Casino input jack coming loose. Tried several ways to snug it down and many worked. Saw this on Amazon and thought with 28 guitars I needed this. It even works on amp inputs and Strat jacks too. Ingenious little tool. You can really put some tight on the jack nut with this. A little pricey but I wish I had found it long ago. Worth every penny.

Must have for tightening output jacks!
This is a MUST HAVE tool when tightening the output jack on a guitar like an Epi Casino. It works on any guitar with a 1/4 inch jack. It's simple to use and IT WORKS. It's a little spendy but actually well worth it.
