High quality subwoofer for music daw
AS I slowly fall down an audiophile purchasing binge nothing was satisfying my need for a tighter bass set up while making music. PORTED SUB EVEN in the higher values were not sounding good to me musically. I needed, wanted a sealed subwoofer. And that market is niche and hard to decide quality when so many audiophiles are complaining about things you may not hear. for my use, for music, in a smallish 25 soft room, this is perfect bass. Just perfect. Beautiful heavy build, just what I needed.I do not know the exact range of this sub, but hearing your kick drums and bass at the highest fidelity without too much theatric boom on top.Dare I say, I almost want a second one

Delightfully powerful
As I expected from this brand, this subwoofer kicks serious butt. It plugged into my ten year old Denon receiver with no issues, and with very little experimentation is backing up my twenty-five year old Bose bookshelf speakers beautifully. Very powerful bass, I only have volume up to 1/3 and it makes the couch vibrate. If you haven't touched your receiver settings in a while, just remember to go back to set-up, set your speakers to "small" and then set your bass to "LFE+main".

I love this subwoofer
I had recently purchased the Audioengine 2+ desktop speakers for my Mac. They are great but they do, not surprisingly, lack bass on the lower end.I called up support at Audioengine and asked for their advice - should I get larger desktop speakers? I didn’t want to because I wanted the smaller footprint for my desk. They suggested getting the S6 or S8 sub to pair with my speakers. They also said that if I didn’t want to spend more money, download the app, EQMAC, and effectively EQ my speakers. But their ultimate recommendation was to consider a sub.I did download and use EQMAC and it worked well but this sub idea kept bugging me. So I decided “buy a sub”. I liked the S8 cause it comes in white (to match my speakers) but it under my desk for a computer - I’m not trying to fill a room —- so I opted for the S6 (it’s black and grey).Ok — my opinion. WOW! This combo of my A2+ speakers with the S6 sub is unbelievable Soooo glad I sprung for this combo. Very happy with my purchase. And high points to Audioengine support - excellent!!

Pretty Good but not for my current setup.
I have a pair of PreSonus Monitors and wanted a subwoofer to pair with them. Needed the smallest option for space and this Audioengine Sub was a good size. I thought this would be plug and play if it had the correct inputs and outputs but it did not have anything to connect to my monitors as they use XLR and the only way would be to find a XLR to RCA or Aux cable or adapter and that would be more things to purchase. I did test it out with Aux with a different speaker and it does provide impressive lows and bass for its smaller size than other options but again since it dosnt have XLR, I can't plug and play to my monitors. I did look into the Augioengine A2+ monitors if I got those to pair but maybe another time if i am looking for new monitors. I ended up deciding to purchase a subwoofer from PreSonus so I can match brands but obviously its a little larger but its plug and play and I made it work. This Audioegine sub is still great and compact size but likely best with Audioengine monitors to pair with. I returned the sub but will consider the bundle option with monitors if I do replace my current setup.

Big sound in a small package; great features.
This thing bumps. The auto sleep function is nice. The controls are simple. Can't imagine needing a bigger sub. It was easy to add on to my existing Audioengine N22 paired with P4 bookshelf speakers.

Excellent Match for the AE2+
I purchased the AudioEngine 2+; which I love. For the size they have decent based but I wanted more. These work great! Just know that using your AE2+ at low volume will not trigger the S6 -- there is a minimum 'trigger' volume necessary. I think they are ideal for a computer desk set-up in which you want a small compact sub. Very solid and good quality.
