Q: Can you use on steel efficiently?

I use this to cut thin sheet metal into a shape but I also use it to scuff the surface of thick steel pieces that I want to prepare for coating.

Q: HOW can the rasp blade be cleaned

I use the wire wheel on my grinder and lightly clean the blade.

Q: Has anyone used the sanding attachment on this to remove raft from a 3d printed PLA plastic piece?

I would use a super fine grit sand paper since this Sonic rafter can or quickly. Be careful that your PLA plastic piece does not contain sensitive electronics circuits since the Sonicrafterm hand tool can create a lot of vibration. It might be better to use a rotary hand tool at low rpm instead with a sanding drum.
