Cracking light
I wanted a good light for fishing. This arrived on time. Got it on the Amazon pay monthly for 5 months scheme else I’d never been able to buy it. Good light would I buy it again ……. NO

Bright, expensive but well made.
Good range of outputs. 3 levels each of either flood or beam.Front light unit nicely balanced by rear battery. Battery can be belt mounted & extension lead provided for this. High capacity battery can also be used as a USB charger.A little heavy but fits nicely & comfortable for long term use.

If you want the best head torch here it is!
It is quite heavy but as the battery compartment matches the weight of the bulb unit it is balanced and quite comfortable to wear. As is usual with Fenix the actual life of the battery between charges is about 1/3 the theoretical figures contained in the literature accompanying the product. The lights are both very very good. I find the floodlight is perfect for walking in the dark to avoid tripping hazards and rarely need to use the spotlight as well, or instead.

Excellent for it's purpose
This isn't a head torch for running or walking the dog, although it could be used for both however it's really too heavy for running an overkill for dog walking. It excels in situations where you need a lot of light with easy to use controls that can easily be used with gloves. For example mountain rescue, emergency services dealing with situations at night and possibly camping. The torch is heavy but is nicely balanced by the battery pack on the rear which can also be used as a USB power bank. It comes with an extension cable and metal holster so the battery can be carried off the head torch, for example to keep the battery inside your jacket in winter. In flood mode on it's lowest 50 lumens setting it will run for 120 hours. In spotlight mode on turbo 2000 Lumen it can run for 6 hours but it does have overheat protection so will reduce output if it gets warm.I've used it in torrential rain in woods with no moon and it was extremely good with a constant output unlike some I've used with a high turbo but only a couple of minutes before throttling output.
