I have both style the blue and and red rack ...
I have both style the blue and and red rack studs for different thickness of metal rails used in the rack cages.I wish there were out years ago would have saved many bruised and bloody knuckles. Will definitely continue to use these when/where I can.

These are a slightly better fit, but still a little tight
Using in StarTech 25U open rack (4POSTRACK25U). Originally tried the red studs, and they were way too tight. These are a slightly better fit, but still a little tight. If you try to install the stud straight into the mounting hole, it will never go in. You have to install it at a 45 degree angle, until it clicks, then straighten it out, and it will click again, locking into place. Then you put the yellow washer on. It won't slide into place completely until you screw on the cap. Just push it on enough to where it won't come loose on its own and you're good to go. Once the caps are on, the mount seems to be very solid. Every bit as solid as a cage nut.

Not useful and tedious
shear off easily. Was only using them on a blank panel. The price is outrageous for the quality. Cage nuts are way easier to use than these things. Patch panels are about as heavy as you can go with these things. Using a drill and cage nuts way handier than manually tightening these things.

Re-racked 5 systems, with no blood, no torn fingernails, and minimal cursing!
I have a Liebert MCR rack, and these worked great. Make sure to check the recommended rack types before you buy; the blue RackStuds and the red RackStuds are meant for different metal thicknesses.

Thank you soo much for making it so easy. Only cons is the price for the novelty
Thank you soo much for making it so easy. Only cons is the price for the novelty, too expensive, being just plastic. but I would prefer to use it and save time

Failed after 60 days under less than a 5lb/stud load.
I tested (4) of these in a rack using a Cisco 3850 switch (1u, 17.6 lbs). After 2 months we found the rack studs snapped off dropping the switch. Cool idea, but a risky proposition long term in my opinion. These may be ok for wire management in a rack, but our use showed that they failed under a 5lb/rack stud after only 60 days. Poor show.Good luck if you choose these.

These are great. Super simple to install and made it so much easier to install a heavy switch.

Best thing since sliced bread. Only wish it could handle more weight and were more cheaper.

Great product, changed the way we mount things to cabinets.

If only everything was this easy
These are amazing. Had issues initially as bought the smaller gauge red variant and these did not fit our 10 year old APC racks (newer ones are apparently made with thinner gauge of metal). They are so much nicer and easier to use than traditional cage nuts and bolts. Initially the folks from our networks group were sceptical but were delighted to have been proven wrong. Everyone shown the system from that point onwards has said that it was a real revelation. New data centre fully racked out in a fraction of the usual time.We are now considering making this a standard in our company!

nice idea, but not strong enough for the job
tried these with a standard size / weight Cisco router, and it didnt hold the device level as the normal metal cage nuts do - would be fine for lightweight devices im sure

Work just fine
They work as you would expect, only they make life so much easier. Switch to them, you'll thank me.

One Star
The idea is great, the usefulness is equal to zero.
