We have two dogs, one that likes to be in a crate and one that likes to jump on them. This has been a problem because eventually the bed covering gets deformed from all the sumo slams. This bed however is made to colapse so when it gets flaten, we just pop it back up. It lives in the car and does well as insulation, keeping the baby warm when its cool and cool when its warm.I wish it had a way to pull the collapsed bed up from the top, like a loop of fabric attached to the top I could put my finger on and pull the top up. It's kind of a pain in my vehicle to reach into the bed and pop the top from the inside.

I've bought a couple of these houses for my cats and they are great. If everyone is wondering about size, here is a guideline. For a cat - even a small cat - buy the standard size for cats 15lbs and above. I have a petite cat that is about 10 lbs and I have a big chunky boy cat that's around 20 lbs. Both love the standard size.The standard size gives the cat room to sleep and stretch out a bit. They can sit up and change position comfortably. You don't want your pet to be crammed into something too small. I recommend the standard for small dogs as well. The standard size is comfortable for ONE adult cat or a small dog. Perhaps you might be able to get two or three wee kittens or puppies in here but any animal above 6 months old (unless there really mini) is going to need some room.It is great that the house is also convertible into a pet couch. The house is good for winter or chillier rooms and in summer time you can just fold it down as the couch.IMPORTANT: Keeping the house clean and in good shape. I take the floor pad out and slip it into an old pillowcase which I can wash. Or I put an old towel down or a baby blanket that I can wash easily. It also makes it much more comfy for them. They like something to cuddle and who doesn't like a nice clean bed? I change the towel/blanket about every week or two to keep everything fresh. Do NOT put this house in the washing machine! The foam structure will be ruined. If you need to clean this house do it with a damp cloth and surface wash the house. Shake it out and perhaps spray it with Lysol and let dry before returning to your pets. Follow my instructions and these houses will last a long time.In the very cold winter, I throw a towel over the sides and back of the house (standard bath towel) for more insulation. Then I will take an old pillow case or perhaps something thin like a tea towel and drape it HALFWAY over the door so the animal can get some air but still cut down on any cold breeze.My cats practically live in these houses except in super hot weather. Almost every afternoon nap and most nighttime naps are taken in these houses. The design is really classy too. If you have to put a pet house in your living room or take a house with you when you travel, you will not be embarrassed by the look of this house. I wish Sheri would come up with some more designer fabrics. I also wish the black and white leopard print wasn't so white. Perhaps they'll do a darker jacquard or paisley or something that would go with most people's decor.By all means, get this house just make sure you get them the correct size.

It's really good quality, my kitten just doesn't really use it. She'll go in it sometimes or lay on top of it when it is in it's couch shape, but doesn't use it like I thought she would. I ordered the small one and was surprised that it was not bigger. I don't know how well my cat kitten will fit into it once she is fully grown. If you have a big cat or a small dog, get the medium sized one so they don't feel cramped (unless your animal likes that type of thing). I'd be happier if my cat actually started using it though, lol, but that's nobody's fault. When it arrived in the mail, it was kind of mushed and needed time to take it's shape, but after that it's wasn't deformed or anything and the house stood up just fine. Again, the materials are sturdy and the pet house is well made.

I really loved this little doggie house for my little Yorkie Tia. But the sad part was that she didn't love it like we did and I had to return it. When we first took it out of the shipping box the medium size was just right. She is almost 3 years old and only 5 pounds and she had enough room to lay inside comfortably. The old saying goes, "you can't teach a old dog new tricks" is so true. Sometimes it takes them a minute to warm up to something new. But her minute stretched to two days. I put treats inside and we tried to play with her inside of it. But for whatever reason she would bounce right back out of it as soon as we would walk away. But because this little house folds down to a sitting couch she would use that part. And was even smart enough to jump on it to turn it into the couch. She's super spoiled with a bed in every room and our couches to lay on. But we really didn't buy it for that reason. We removed her older beds at night thinking she would just go in when we weren't looking. But sadly she just slept on the floor. But by the second night we didn't want to see her not enjoying her bed time. Sadly we packed up the Sheri bed and sent it back. No trouble at all with the refund. As soon as she saw her older beds back she leaped into it with her tail waging and doggie kisses!But please don't let my dog's likes and dislikes influence you from purchasing the Sheri 2-1 dog bed. It really is so cute and soft, but sturdy that any dog that likes that dog house affect would be so happy with this. It was packaged well during shipping and was delivered really fast. But it really boils down to your dog's preference. But even though it didn't work for us I still happily recommend this item!

What can you expect for the price? In terms of cat and dog toys, not a whole lot... This is really small and not of great quality. The cat went in it the day we bought it, but hasn't used it since. I don't really see the point in the 2 in 1 mechanism.. It's pretty useless.As a bed, though, the price is right as long as your animal is small. Our cat is average size, maybe even a little petite, and she doesn't have much room to spare in there. If we did it all over again, I'd probably have waited for one I could see in person to go on sale and then buy, even if it was a little more expensive.
