Hookaroon 13.5 Inch Stainless Steel Pickaroon for Log Pulling and Moving Wood Firewood Tool

I was sitting on the front porch of our Ridge top home with a couple neighbors sipping TN's favorite whiskey when I first saw the new Pickaroon. I showed my buds and asked if they had ever seen one. They both replied that I'd be the first to get one. I immediately hit the quick order button and it was here in two days. Really cool tool! Now to just get my log splitter running.

Cut alot of wood this year and we love the size and ease of use these tools gave us. Well satisfied.

Impulse buy. Nothing I would have spent that $ on at a flea market or yard sale. Get a Cant Hook. I thought it might be like one, but it isn't at all. Maybe I need to watch a video of an expert using one. But I have been cutting wood for a half a century and figured I would try a new gadjet. I bought two. I'll gift them to my nieces for in their cars for martial arts defense weapons.

This is just stamped sheet metal with a dipped handle. It's useful as a second hookaroon, and it's reasonable, but I don't expect it to last forever. It is, however, very sharp!

Quite honestly I’m not impressed with this tool. For starters the coating on the handle is cracked and probably won’t last long. Next one of the features is that it is light in fact I feel it’s too light. There doesn’t seem to be enough mass to hook this in a log. I tried numerous times and couldn’t get it deep enough to hold. I really wanted it to work because I cut and split a lot of wood. However, after numerous attempts I wanted to toss it very far.

Due to short length and awkward nub at the bottom, hitting a hard piece of wood wrong can send a pain through the handle and to you. But for the price it works, grips, and doesn't take up space. Good for a fire pit and small amounts of wood to relocate.
