How you assemble this is impo
I had a small space that I needed shelves to store soda on. After searching, I found this unit which was about the size I needed, 21 inches wide.Whenever I am about to put together an item, I read the directions first and put the pieces around me in the order I will need them. I think a lot of people who are having trouble putting this together got somehow lost with the directions. You must make sure that the plastic pieces are fully inserted and facing the correct direction. They will look loose at first and they will seem not to connect to each other on both sides of the pole. But that is because the next shelf you will put on needs to fit over them. That shelf will then slide over and grasp those pieces together if you put that shelf on correctly. And if you put that shelf on too far down on one side and not the other; it's going to slant. Take the time for each shelf to see if it wobbles then correct the shelf height at that corner before moving on. I will say that the wire shelves has openings of about 5 1/2" by 1 1/2". That means that certain things will not be able to sit flat on just the wire shelf, (like my 2 liter bottles of soda). I fixed this by putting down pieces of cardboard. I was going to use it for soda anyway, so if somethings spills, I can just replace the cardboard. But I would think you could always cut out a piece of wood if you want it to look fancier. I just got this and I had it put together in 20 minutes and I am really liking it so far.

Don’t buy this!
Trash product with so many little pieces. I wanted to pull my hair out of my head after the first hour of attempting to assemble this crap. The material that it’s made out of won’t hold anything that I need it to hold anyway. I assumed, by the color, that it would be metal, it was not. I promptly repackaged and returned this item. Too much stress.

Does what it's designed to do
There is nothing wrong with this shelving unit, if you understand what it is designed to do. It's not made to take your 50 lbs. iron plates and throw them on it. It's a light weight small shelving unit and in the right application it's perfect. It's stable and it's solid. I will say I don't trust it 100% to not fall and here's why: It's a narrow and tall and light weight unit. That's just physics; not as stable as something shorter with a bigger foot print. Also, it's difficult to get the legs 100% even when assembling it. Still, it sits pretty well on a hard floor or carpet with just a little play in it ( about 1/4 inch). So, I secured it to the wall with a couple of small plastic cable clamps and wall anchors; not an absolute necessity but I feel better about it that way. Putting it together: a breeze. Now, if you like to just guess at how to do it and start grabbing pieces, well you're probably going to have a hard time. Take your time and look at the instructions carefully. Instructions are simple and straight forward. You don't even have to read English, or any other language for that matter. Tools are not required. Take your time. It's probably about 20 min. It's light weight but I'd say the picture on the site is pretty accurate as far as what you can do with it. Microwave and slow cooker toward the bottom and lighter items toward the top ( common sense ). It's made in China, simple effective, brilliant... It works. When you finish putting it together you pick it up with one hand and carry it to where you want it. I'm glad I bought it... 5 stars

Waste of Money
Since there are good reviews and bad reviews for this shelving unit, I'm guessing there is no quality control at the factory that produces this. According to the instructions, the diameter on one side of the hole that goes around the pole should be wider than the other side. I measured the holes and found that some of them were wider, and some of them were not. Because of this, the locking collars would not fit in the holes and the tier does not assemble. Also, the locking collars would not lock about 9 out of 10 times. I have assembled closet organizers with the same type of locking collars before, with no issues. I tried taking the shelving unit apart but, one of the poles is stuck and no amount of hammering will un-stick that pole so I am unable to put it back in the box.Update: I ended up ordering this one and love it. Much stronger and goes together easier https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A0VYZY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Mostly excellent shelf
The media could not be loaded.  We used this in our pantry, so we needed something for a limited space. We did not use the top shelf as it was too tall for the space. I would have given this 5 stars, but as you can see in the video, the poles are a little uneven so it’s wobbly. For our purposes of holding groceries, it will be just fine. The assembly instructions are kind of confusing, but once you figure it out, it’s easy. I figured I could help clarify since some people had issues with assembly.1) Take poles labeled A and place a clear plastic snap on (labeled E) into each hole at the bottom of the pole. There should be two pieces on each pole. The snap on pieces should be oriented with the nub (fitting into the holes) closest to the floor.2) Slide one shelf down over the poles and securely over the clear plastic pieces. If the shelf doesn’t seem to fit, remove it, flip it over and try again.3) Take poles labeled B. Slide into pole A so that the holes line up.4) Place clear plastic snap ons (nub oriented down) into each hole, securing pole B into pole A.5) Slide the next shelf down over clear plastic snap ons. If it does not seem to fit, flip it over and try again.6) Repeat steps 3-5 until finished.Hope this helps. The black spacers on the shelf corners are for shipping purposes only.
