Yes! Finally a recording that showcases all the strengths and idiosyncrasies of this amazing band and lets them stand on the rightful podium The Locust has stood in their lengthened hiatus. A Retox song is like pulling back a thick rubberband over your thumb and letting it snap onto your friends (enemys?) ear. Fast, palpable tension, manic irritation. Front person/lyricist Justin Pearson has always had a way with words and this might be his most memorable performance to date, selling would-be-zingers like “go to the moon – nobody gives a s***, wise donkey is a pathological optimist” with intense conviction. I’d be remiss not to mention the band too, skilled would be an understatement! They pack tons of interesting changes into their average two minute songlength! Take ”Consider the Scab Already Picked” as one track of the many exemplary: stacks of snares & sweep-picking rudely interrupted by a dexterous riff that wouldn’t be unheard on any old Iron Maiden album before busting into riotous hardcore stomp. Retox are able to load tons of information into these songs while giving them the memorability that music of this intensity sometimes lacks.

This album pummels! Im a big fan of their first record UGLY ANIMALS but YPLL definitely surpasses that.It seems like there is more balance and structure to the YPLL album and not as spastic and choatic.BUY THIS NOW!
