Cocoon Cam, 2017-1st Generation (Newer Model Available - Cocoon Cam Plus)

I really like this camera. It is a little too far zoomed in. And the cord is far to short to put it somewhere to get a good shot. It really does need an extension cord to get it up high enough. They recommend getting the whole crib in the camera shot, but it's too zoomed in and has too short of a cord to do that.I love that it connects to my phone. That is probably my favorite part. And it comes with a good price. It send notifications about the baby moving. They aren't very accurate, but i just turned them off.My one big complaint is that there are like no instructions for it. There is a tiny sheet about setting it up on your phone, but that's it. There's nothing on how to use all the features or what they mean or anything. I didn't find anything in the box or online. Everything just talks about how awesome it is. And it is awesome, but I would love more info on how to use it.UPDATE: I really do not like this monitor. I leave the sound on when my son is taking a nap, but it will turn itself off a lot. Today, he was taking a nap and I checked my phone and saw that he was screaming like crazy but the sound wasn't coming out. It said that the sound was turned on, but I had to turn it off and then turn it back on for it to work. This seems to happen a lot so I have to constantly check the sound and turn it off and on again to make sure it's working. I was really excited about this, but have been very disappointed after spending as much money as I did.ANOTHER UPDATE:Okay so for some reason I haven't given up on the camera and I'm so glad I didn't. I've been working with the company to make it work and it's awesome. They have really taken everyone's reviews into consideration and have fixed those things. First off, they've lengthened the cord so now I'm not having an issue with placing in the right spot. That also fixed the too zoomed in issue because there's more room to place the camera. Next, they've updated the software to more accurately detect the baby and the baby's breathing. I had really thought it wasn't possible because it really was so bad at first. But it actually works so well now! It perfectly tells me when my son is awake and when he's moving and it actually locks onto his breathing and tracks it. It is so cool!!!!! So I would say that it is a higher price but it's not just a camera, you're also getting some really cool software that really actually works to help protect your baby.

First of all I would like to say if you're having any trouble at all with this product please contact customer service and support. They are extremely helpful and will work closely with you to make sure all of your issues are resolved. We originally had problems installing an operating this product but after working with customer service ( actually a very dedicated CEO) it is now working beautifully. I feel like some of the negative reviewers may not have taken the time to contact the company and work on the issues before they returned the item or posted negative reviews. Secondly I would like to say that this is a very very good camera and a very good product. Compared to the other cameras We have used, this is one of the best resolution cameras on the market and the functionality of the microphone and the speaker are excellent. We really like that you can see the baby on your phone or iPad over Wi-Fi even if you are halfway across town. The resolution of the camera is in color in the daytime and is very sharp. You need to follow the instructions in order to set the sensitivity and threshold of the device in order to take advantage of the breathing monitoring function. This is not difficult to do, but you have to do it properly or it won't work the way you want it to. We are very happy with this product and highly recommend it to everyone.

I have a precious new (first) granddaughter! I watch her 2 days a week for her parents to work without having to use a daycare. I want my precious granddaughter to be as safe as possible, especially while she is in our home, Cocoon Cam allows us to watch over her while she is sleeping in her crib. As a RN I know a sleeping baby can die because of SIDS. If this product diminishes that risk by one percent. it is worth so much to me. We are also pleased that her Mom and Dad can look in on her, with their phone app. while they are at work. I have had to use their support services my fault, not the products), they were friendly, knowledgeable and resolved issues and answered all my questions.

I love the Cocoon Cam. I actually used it to monitor an older person when they got out of the hospital. I especially liked to be able to view his sleeping area from my iPhone. If I went into town, I could still monitor him from my phone. It's a great little device.

Being a gadget lover I was really intrigued by the technology this camera offered. Being able to monitor breathing without any wearables was a big draw. However since the day we’ve set it up we’ve had issues with the camera/app. Everything from frozen screens to false alerts to the app just crashing during the night it’s been really frustrating. When the app does work it’s pretty awesome which is about 80% of the time. It’s just something so critical as monitoring a baby has to work 100%.My wife and I have both had the issues on our iPhones. We always make sure to have both our app and camera running the latest update and firmware. I keep hoping with every update that maybe just maybe everything will work. Well we’ve had it for 7 months now and with every update we continue to have problems. Customer support is responsive but they also haven’t exactly been sympathetic and even though they suggest things or try things on their end we still have issues.Maybe someday they will get all the kinks worked out.

I love the Cocoon Cam, and I use it over my Owlet:The Owlet was fine except I couldn't see my baby. I had no idea what he was actually doing in his room. I also had no way of knowing if he cried.The Cocoon Cam solved all of that. I can see him, hear him, and talk to him --even 15 miles away in my office! I get notifications when he is put into the crib, taken out, moving a lot, or not at all. You can set all of these notifications to your preference too. You can also set its sensitivity. It's honestly the best product out there.
