Rulers of the Horoscope: Finding Your Way Through the Labyrinth Paperback – Illustrated, April 1, 2008

The book is amazing! Very deep, very thorough. As a beginner i find it hard, but yet cant put it down and trying to figure it out. Its not a plain cookbook, you need to be able to think and analyze and put information together, but it’s interesting for a change to use your brains ( like in medicine… doctors can be a cookbook type and other who think and analyze themselves too). I know i will be using this book more and more as I gather more knowledge in this profession. It is valuable book! Very much so!

As the title, I really hope I read this long time ago. Then I can understand all more clearly and earlier. Alan Oken has the gift pen, go straight clearly, unveil the labyrinth paths without lengthy pleonasm. The book of gems.

Hands down, the best book I have come across for learning all the nuances of the houses. Written in a very understandable and relatable manner.

Alan Oken's "Rulers of the Horoscope" needs to be in every astrologer's library. It's just fantastic. Mr. Oken, an accomplished astrologer in his own right, gives a very detailed emphasis on dispositorships, mutual receptions, and the rulers of each astrological house posited in other houses here in this epic work. If there was a Top Ten List of Astrology Books, "Rulers of the Horoscope" would certainly make the cut. The best paragraph in the whole book is on page 38, where the author emphasizes the importance of synthesis when interpreting the natal chart. He is just so spot-on about this vital intuitive concept, and it's amazing how he can get that point across in just one paragraph. Whether you're a beginner or serious practitioner of astrology, do yourself a favor and get this book!

I purchased Rulers of the Horoscope, as well as two other Alan Okan astrology books (he has several of them). They are really easy to understand and very informative. I highly recommend this and any of Alan Oken's books.

So, this is not of today, it’s not inclusive in terms of gender and some wild, old school biases are preserved in the text. All that said, it has so much priceless information that we now leave to apps and websites. It really is a heavy hitter when it comes to making a chart yourself, or understanding the details of squares and whatnot. I learned oh so much from this book.

I found this book has all the information I needed. I am self thought, this book helped me tremendously.

I have been teaching astrology for about nine years now and have had the very darndest time explaining to my students how to use rulers of signs to help describe each sign and its house placement articulately - in plain English. This book does just that! It is required reading for any teacher and student.

One of the few rare books needed for the complete interpretation of charts and it's synthesis.This is the missing link.

Very good read for understanding rulerships. I bought this book in particular for understanding the hierarchies of disposition, which it explains rather well.
