Sturdy, Opaque, Smooth, and Calligraphy Ink does not Smudge
I purchased these envelopes for a holiday envelope exchange hosted by The Calligraphy Podcast and was looking for good-quality envelopes that were affordable on a college-student budget, could be used for multiple occasions and not just the holidays, were self-adhesive, and did not smudge dip pen calligraphy ink. These envelopes exceeded my expectations and I received many compliments on the envelopes. As a reference, none of the envelopes arrived without adhesive, folded, or broken. They were wrapped in a thin plastic wrap and came within a manilla folder two-three days after ordering them. I was able to write on them with both a Hunt EF and Hunt 101 Imperial nibs using Dr. Ph Martin's Copplerplate Gold and Bleedproof White inks. If you know anything about calligraphy nibs, the Hunt EF is a large, sturdy, low-flow nib that is excellent for writing on materials with a lot of texture. The Hunt 101, however, is a small, flexible nib that requires a lot of precision, achieves small hairlines, and tends to catch on paper fibers so it is only recommended for use on smooth paper. None of the nibs caught on the paper fibers and I was able to successfully achieve fine hairlines. The envelopes are not see-through, and I even decorated them with DIY envelope liners. The self-adhesive seals very tightly, so the envelopes are unlikely to open in the mail. Overall, if I could rate these envelopes higher than a 5, I definitely would!

Disappointed
Bought this for my sons birthday invitationsThe envelopes were just as described, unfortunately they arrived bent at the middle .Some people might not care , to me it matters as it made the invitations look sloppy .I don't have time to order more or look elsewhere for new envelopes . Sadly I'll have to use these.

I really liked the envelope -
Colors are great, self stick was great, size was great. bUT, I did have 2 minor issues which is why I didnt rate this a 5star: 1st, about 2 envelopes out of each lot were missing the self adhesive. 2nd, although the add says they come in lots of 50 / if you are counting on fifty they are short two. 4 out of 4 envelope packages only had 48 envelopes. The first looks like mfg issue, and you can use tape on the seal (a little tacky though). The second, I still like them at the price for 48 envelopes vs 50 [the description "A7 Invitation Envelopes (5 ¼ x 7 ¼) - Navy Blue (50 Qty) | Perfect for Invitations, Weddings, Announce"] but they should change the add so if I need 50 I can order 2 packages.

Envelopes are a bit snug
I purchased 5x7 invites from Vistaprint and bought these envelopes to go along with them to them have wax sealed. I was completing a job for a 1st time client that wanted some blue themed invites. I noticed almost immediately when placing the invites into the envelopes, that they were a less than desirable tight fit. I measured both the invite and the envelope and neither are 5x7in exact so I don't know what gives??? And I don't know if I'll get that job again this time next year either... I hope it's not such a big deal to my client but I don't know if I'd risk purchasing this envelope again.

Huge wrinkles on over half of my envelopes!
Super disappointed in these. Over half of the envelopes had these major crinkles in them. These were Birthday invitation envelopes so I ended up not using the majority of them. Such a waste! They were wrapped in tight plastic so I don't think it was a shipping issue. The manufacturer just didn't do quantity control, I guess.

Great professional quality envelopes!!!
I bought these for my wedding invitations, and they were just perfect! The "peel and press" adhesive was a lifesaver! I can't imagine having to lick 100 envelopes back-to-back after hand addressing each one... Anyways, it might clash a bit if you're printing address labels to stick on the front of these, which is why I chose to hand address each one myself. I watched some calligraphy tutorials, purchased some white gel pens (because that's the only color that really stood out against this deep purple envelope) and basically used a faux-calligraphy style to address each one. Turned out very tasteful and professional, and the minor imperfections let each person know the time that went into each invitation. As I stated this is a nice quality envelope, and I was able to stuff a simple 110lb cardstock invitation, along with RSVP card, and similar quality return envelope in this 5x7 inch envelope. Very happy with this product!! :)

Good quality and printable!
I bought these for my sister-in-law's baby shower invitations that had a cactus theme. They came in pristine condition in an amazon prime envelope while also being packed in plastic. I was able to print right on the envelopes when I was doing addresses using a laser jet printer and the only address that got smudged was the first one I did (but I think that was more my fault since I touched it sooner than I should have). If you are printing on these give it a good minute before you place another one on top or touch it with your finger. Getting paper inside the envelope was a little tough but only because the paper was minimally smaller than the actual envelope. The peel and press just adds to the wonderfulness of this envelope since it saves time and my taste buds from having to lick all of them closed. All in all, wonderful envelopes and I have already bought another color that I will use for my wedding shower and wedding invitations.

Great buy!
I bought a digital file online for some invitations and when I printed them I still needed envelopes to put them in. These were the best price for the size I needed with the peel and press closure. When they arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The paper used was much thicker than I thought it would be. I would use them for any kind of invitation, card, etc...The peel and press aspect worked well. None of the invitations opened in transit, and best of all, I didn't have to lick anything. Yuck!If you are looking for size A7 envelopes that you don't have to lick, look no further.
