A twister for sure
Just when you think you have it all figured out, Dekker smacks you right in the face. I read the ending several times as I realized that this was not just a story, but truth that most of us fail or refuse to see. The title of THREE makes all the sense when you understand what the author is saying in this riveting story. Read it and think hard on the ending for therein lies the truth we refuse to acknowledge to often in ourselves and in others.

Almost the intriguing story of Jekyll and Hyde, but instead being the possible contemporary outcome of perverted suppression of a child. Despite the outcome it's difficult not to feel deep compassion for the central character. Dekker is able to keep most readers guessing about the perpetrator of the maddening threats and actions until pretty nearly the end. Reading of a young man training in seminary who seems distant from the true Gospel message of salvation and the work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of the persona seems quite vague--that I would believe Dekker could have artfully worked in using his talents and still have avoided making this a tract. The portrayal of what probably exists in all of us to various degrees of our innocence, love and hate was a major draw for me as I read.

Mind-blowing and thrilling suspense with shallow and boring characters.
I received this book in the mail on a Thursday, stayed up all night Thursday reading the first half. Friday night, I stayed up all night again reading the second half and finished it. I literally couldn't put it down and it kept me up till 4am two nights in a row! Thrilling, mind-blowing suspense. You've got to read this book.I gave "Three" four stars because didn't appreciate the characters. They were rather forgettable...not much depth, not well developed or flawed with a buttload of cliches. This is reconciled some through the ending...you'll understand what I mean when you get to the end. While the characters are on the shallow side, this book is still worth your time and you'll love it! :D

Gripping thriller
Another great offering from Ted Dekker. A thriller that I found hard to put down, wanting to find another free moment to find out what happens next. Definitely a worthwhile read for thriller and Dekker fans alike.

Expectations were so high
But the reality is that this novel wasn't as great as all the reviews said. It was ok, slightly creepy in parts, but amazing? Nope. The production of the novel was great. The author is very talented when it comes to the plot devices he used to keep the reader guessing. But I liked the characters so much that the ending just disappointed me. It was a letdown, even if the authors methods were pretty brilliant.

Riddle Me This ...
Ted Dekker is a phenomenal writer in every aspect and has quickly become my favorite author. THR3E is Ted Dekker's seventh novel and another jewel in his treasure chest of bestsellers.I find Ted Dekker to be a very observant world traveler, who has the unique ability to traverse this world and view the journey through a very unique set of eyes. Through his vision, we are able to see the world in a more profound and sacred way. Through the darkness, we find light. Through hate, we find love. Through death, we find life.Sometimes, those who are closest to the truth, lose sight of what they see; and it takes someone who has been uprooted from the soil and cast into the darkness to shine that light upon us. This is the gift of Ted Dekker.Rather than have this be a singular review of this one novel, I would like to make this review a summation of all of Ted Dekker's novels. Buy them and read them all. You will be touched beyond imagination. Joy and laughter, sorrow and tears will both intermingle within your soul; and your heart's door will be opened by the love and light that Ted Dekker delivers through his writing. He truly has a gifted pen, and all of his novels are superb examples of God's glorious grace.Dekker's hand has penned some of the most adrenaline-packed stories imaginable. His characters are extraordinarily unforgettable and the twists and turns will keep you guessing until the very end.If you are looking for pristine examples of the neverending battle between good and evil, you will find them in each of Ted Dekker's novels.

Good at the end
This book takes quite a while to pull you in. I was in chapter 17 before I really started to feel the urge to pick the book back up. If you’re quickly bored or like quickly developing stories this may not be for you.

Fascinating mystery
I'm reading this right now. It's fascinating and I hate that I can't sit down and read it through. A great mystery. The killer uses riddles which I find myself trying to solve. Very well written.

Great start..but poor finish.
No Spoilers: I really like Ted Dekker books-and when I started reading this, it quickly became a firm top favourite of all crime/thriller books I had ever read. Great storyline, great characters, really tense stuff. I loved it. Then, with only a few chapters to go, something was revealed that made a complete mockery of the characters that had been involved. It wasn't a clever idea, or a great twist- it was a rip off- I felt robbed of a good book. But it wouldn't put me off other Ted Dekkers- just wouldn't recommend this one!

Best book I ever read
An amazing book, soon as you pick it up you can't put it down. Dekker creates an intense story that you can't help getting drawn into. I've never read a book like this before where I just can't wait to pick it back up. I even took it to work to read on my lunch break. From what I've heard the movie is terrible, so if you're thinking of watching it, read this first. Other wise it will ruin everything. If you like books that are fast paced and exciting with twists and turns through out then you'll love this. Amazing. The best book I've ever read!

... book shows me that everyone is capable of being good, evil and an innocent caught in the middle
This book shows me that everyone is capable of being good, evil and an innocent caught in the middle. I think it also shows us that there are many different kind of abuse within families. I think it also gives people who are stuck in those situations the courage to free themselves.

A Poor Read
I didn't enjoy this book. The characters were poorly formed. I did not feel a connection with any of them. The main character was portrayed as a naive fool who I think the reader was expected to sympathise with. He was surrounded by a host of motherly female characters who ranged from completely bizarre to super woman. The plot is quite unbelievable and the police are portrayed as self serving and incompetent.
