Bright, Convenient, Durable Lighting Solution
If you’re like me, you never quite know when you’re going to need some bright light. In my case, it’s usually when I’m in a rush and my hands are full. I’ve tried mini flashlights and keychain flashlights and have loved them all, but they never quite had the simplicity which met my needs.Well, enter the Streamlight KeyMate. When I first saw it advertised, I figured it wouldn’t be bright enough or durable enough for my needs. After all, I had a bunch of flashlights, I didn’t need something else which was just going to work adequately.Well, I finally decided to try one and couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. It’s much brighter than i expected it to be. It lights enough of an area to be used at night when walking, and is easy to activate with one hand, a key differentiator from many of my keychain lights. The durability of the KeyMate is quite good, having been crafted with the kind of durable plastic which lasts for years. Did I mention it’s easily rechargeable with any Micro USB connector? I’ve been so pleasantly surprised with this tool that I bought a half dozen for Christmas presents for my sisters and nieces, who are decidedly not the types who put a lot of thought into their gear. This product is easy to use, durable, and effective. What else can I say?

Definately worth having - and it makes a really GREAT gift for someone you care about.
OK, so it is still a bit bulky to always have attached to your key chain (especially if that key chain is kept in your pocket). However, during the winter months when night falls early and everything is dark, it's a great item to have readily available (and perhaps have in the glove box when not in the winter months). On a key chain is definitely helps to see the lock you're wanting to insert a key into. And with the option to make it shine brighter, it's so incredibly useful to find things you've dropped or use to shine light into an otherwise dark area. A really GREAT gift to give (awesome stocking stuffer) to someone you care about to help them navigate through some dark areas. Well worth the purchase.

Overall...I like it.
It's a good little addition to the keyring. Bright enough as a last ditch light. The flash mode I think is a little useless but whatever. They only negative thing I'll say about it is the USB compartment is protected by a rubber gasket / flap that's impossible for me to open without the tip of a knife to pry it. I've tried several ways to get it open with my finger or my nail, but just get it. Just maybe a quick redesign of that would be helpful. Again...overall I like it.

Neat little light
Charge length: I have had this product for about two months and just had to re-charge it for the first time. I have used it for maybe a total of an hours run time.Brightness/functionality: this light has three modes. Low light, bright and flash. Both modes are pretty light, including the flash. On a dark night the flash mode is probably, stress probably, bright enough to use as a warning light if your car or bike breaks down. i have used this light to work under the hood of the car, light up a dark room to find the power switch, check for items in a car and other little things light that and I find that it works great for those task.Hardiness: the clip to attach it to my key ring has already bent out of the latch. I was able to put it back by pushing it against a hard object. I wouldn't be surprised if this piece eventually breaks off, etc, but to be fair I beat up on my keys pretty bad.Overall I really like this light. I plan on buying one for my girlfriend and my daughter to put on their key rings. It's a great little tool and since most people won't go to the trouble to carry a light around in their pocket or purse this is a great gift idea.
A**!
Really awesome for gifts and those that love gadgets.
This is a neat little gadget! I have had it for a month or so and it's a cool edition on my keychain. I would likely buy it again with some changes to design.Pros:- Small reasonably built design which is sturdy. I don't know how it will fair with time but will keep this update if my opinion changes.- Extremely bright, more than I expected and I have a lot of streetlight products.- Clip is holding very well and I have NO concerns with it weakening and losing the key itself.- Charging port cover fits perfectly and I does not pop off which was something that shows quality product features that are made to fit appropriately.- I have not had to charge it yet, still going strong from the seller which is quite awesome. I don't know how long the charge will last continuously but I will test it in the near future.Cons:- The only con I have is the location of the light. I think this is preference only but I'd want it at the tip instead.5 Year update: still using this and no issues! Still recommend.

This light really shines!
As always Streamlight products really shine (pun very much intended.)I started buying Streamlight products when they first started coming out with LED.I own items from penlights to weapons lights and all have performed flawlessly..This Keylight is a perfect fit for my travel toiletry kit. This light is very small but very bright. I can eliminate spare batteries from my kit replacing them with the tiny charging dongle that can be used in conjunction with my cell phone charger. While this is simply a row of LEDs on the "key" blade it does not throw a beam like a flashlight with a reflector, but it does a very good job of brightly illuminating a broad area about ten feet out. It is also very easy to use hands free by sliding the clip over my eye glass stem or clipping it to the side of the bill of a ball cap.The color is a very good simulation of daylight. Run time is 1 hour on high, 2 hours on low and recharge is 3 hours.I expect that this Keymate will be as durable as my other Streamlight products and I will most likely buy a handful as Christmas gifts.NO, I DO NOT WORK FOR OR HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH STREAMLIGHT OTHER THAN BEING A USER OF THEIR PRODUCTS.
