Style:Sliding Dear + Surfing Dog The automata paper machine model combo set are designed by Keith Newstead, (born in 1956 in the U.K,) a world-renowned automata designer. You can see his fabulous works on sale in the British Museum, the Tower of London, and the National Gallery. Assemble the paper kit with glue and turn crank to enjoy this automation! Paper automata are not just toys. They are works of art and demonstrations of science. A lot of thought goes into the design of every model. Pull the levers, turn the crank and watch with delight as the model springs into life. They are constructed from paper rather than plastic. Paper is lightweight, strong, easy to work with and environmentally friendly. They also teach the mechanical principles of levers and gears. Sliding Deer : Santa Claus is getting ready to deliver presents to kids all over the world. It takes eight reindeers to pull Santa's sled. In late December, the reindeer skis to the North Pole from their homes in Scandinavia to help Santa perform his special mission on Christmas Day. Material: Paper Weight: 215g Size: 180 x 280 x 130 mm / 7.1 x11 x 5.1 IN Surfing Dog : When he isn't guarding his owner's house, this chilled-out canine likes to head to the beach to catch some waves. In his beach shorts and sunglasses, he blends in perfectly among the human surfers.

Great model Overall!
I just finished the skiing Rudolph model. The printing/ink is very nicely done, the instructions are clear, and the functionality is superb. The only problem is that there were 3 missing pieces from the model--they not even printed on the card stock. 2 minor pieces--21 & 22 are tiny structural supports for the arm. They are hidden and we're not crucial. Part 40a, however, is Rudolph's santa cap which is supposed to cover a tab. I suppose I'll have to make one myself.

Pretty cool once you get the hang of it
My only complaint so far about these paper kits is that is was not immediately clear that I needed to use glue. I put together the first 5 pieces and thought "this can't be right" because everything was coming uncurled. I grabbed a regular old gluestick out of my crafting box. Once I started gluing it all though, it was so much better. I also wish the kit told me what kind of glue is preferred for this kind of paper.Other than that, this thing is actually really straightforward even though it looks intimidating out of the box. The pieces are beautiful and it's much bigger than I imagined. Pretty cool. I'm enjoying working on this.

Great and novel paper craft kits!
These "kits" go together really well and look very much how they're supposed to when finished. The cat has better movement, but the flying man is more visually interesting. Instructions could have been clearer but take your time and test fit before you glue and you should be fine.

If you like cartoon back in your childhood
This is a creative piece of collection to own and add to your personality in the living room! It’s designed to puzzle each piece together and then you get to do the playing afterwards. If you like cartoon back in your childhood, this can be fun to hang around and the special thing about it is it’s movable! Such an interesting collective piece of art and science to make motion with and it’s 3-D. Fun for you and your little ones at home!!

This was lots of fun to build. The instructions are a bit vague but me and my 9 year old got through them.
