Yes, yes, YES!
My NOOK Glowlight Plus e-reader arrived! It arrives nicely packaged with a quick-start guide and a USB charging cord. Oo it's so sleek and sexy. The seamless metal shell, oo. The textured white margin, oo. It takes a few minutes to set it up. In my case I had to log in to my secured network. Once logged into my B&N account, my books were there with no fuss. I already have an AC adapter for the USB cord, so charging it fully only took a few minutes. It would take longer if I went straight USB.I was puzzled at first and had to play with it for a little while to get it set the way I like it. THE GLOWLIGHT! YES!!!! This is the feature that will make all of the difference for me. I'm getting old and my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. I need to be able to 1) enlarge the font CHECK & 2) BRIGHTEN THE PAGE, CHECK, checkcheckity check check check! I can read again!I need to get away from the computer and from the distractions of the web, and from the Vegas-like bells and bongs of the notifications, and just read - deep thoughtful uninterrupted reading, yesssss. This unit is similar to a Kindle Paperwhite, but it is also waterproof and dustproof. I had a Kindle reader and had numerous problems with it - had to replace it four times in the first year! My old simple touch Nook has been a reliable friend, now I am upgrading to this - and I LOVE IT!

Poor excuse for an ereader
This ereader is cumbersome to use and does not always work as it should. When device us sleeping, the wake button is supposed to take you back to your book. It doesn't. It takes you to another screen where you have to touch the illustration of the book and wait about 15 seconds for your book to appear. Description states that a charge will last up to 8 days. What a joke. I am lucky if it lasts two days. The screen is smaller than previous versions. The only good thing about it is that it can be read in bright sunlight.

Upgrading from older models? Some pluses, but generally less impressed
Barnes & Noble did some really good things with their Nook GlowLight eReaders, but this is somewhat disappointing compared to earlier models. It has more memory, but it still uses the 80/20 system where books bought via B&N get 80% of the storage, and 20% is available for 'other' books/documents. The GlowLight is on all the time when using the device, only turns off when you put it into standby. The sensitivity to the page-turn touch is iffy, I frequently have to try two and three times to turn a page. Sometimes it leads into the 'features' where you can change fonts and other minor settings. Earlier models had physical buttons on the edge of the reader, while they took slightly more pressure to activate they were more reliable for reading. It is more water-resistant. I haven't tested this personally, I don't want to risk my investment, but do support this feature. The front surface is much more level with no real lip between screen and bezel. This means that dirt is less likely to be trapped in corners and edges, making it easier to keep the front of the device clean. As always, minor changes in the size means that your old case probably won't work with this. This 'feature' is designed to serve the company, not the user. I had a case for my prior Nook that I really liked, this won't lock in and required me to get another case. The new case isn't as well designed as the old case, and I'm generally less-than-satisfied by this decision.

No instructions are included and the B&N customer service help phone call made twice was useless and of no help
No way to use the card reader included from Blue Proton. The Nook is sealed. No instructions are included and the B&N customer service help phone call made twice was useless and of no help. The first time B&K customer service hung up on me when I tried to clarify how to use and the second time she left me on hold 15 minutes and I hung up. Calling Blue Proton Co. was of no help as they do not answer the customer service phone number 646 472 5865 quoted from their web page.

Great value
Nice white. Easy to use. Would buy in other colors to be fashionable. The value is definitely there.

Don't buy if outside the US
Don't buy it if outside the US. Even though the device is really nice to handle, over half of its storage capacity is restricted to B&N ebooks. However, B&N will not sell ebooks outside the US, so it's a total waste of memory capacity. Moreover, it is pretty complicated to upload books from other distributors, such as Google Books/ Adobe, even if you authorise the device with your Adobe account ID.On the other hand, if you are in the US, this is probably a good buy. I loved the device in itself.

A overall winner
Very good ebook reader. But the problem is I can't figure out a way to read pdfs. The look is gorgeous. The make is perfect. Reading with glowlight on is pleasure. So 5 stars. If any of you found how to read PDF on it, please help me.
