This is a survey from a Christian view point of the work in progress by those who envision the time when the human brain functions can be downloaded into a computer. I have checked several of the references to articles and reports and have printed out some for my own information. I have found in each case the articles do document what the authors say. What they write about is indeed going on, not only in the U.S. but is world wide. One of the references led me to a site that reported both the U.S. and Russia are rushing to see who can be the first to develop mind control means for military purposes. Other sites referenced show there are groups opposed to the effort to combine man-machine type computers. But, their efforts are being overwhelmed by the huge financial grants, in the millions of dollars, being given by those who want to see thinking computers become a part of our daily lives. This group sees mankind evolving to a higher state, that of a person's mind living in a robot type body which will last a very long time. To some of us this sounds like the stuff of a science fiction movie but to learn that there are more than a few very bright people hard at work trying to make this happen only confirms what the bible says about the days in which we are living. The last chapter of the book lists three situations or events that could bring about a willingness of the general public to allow a chip of some kind to be implanted into their brains that would allow a central authority of some kind to control over or influence their decisions and actions. This book is a wake-up call to a direction technology is being taken by those who say it is only for good purposes to mask what is really their long range goal. What they are doing at present is mapping the human brain, what is connected to what and how each circuit in the brain functions in different situations. IBM has already developed a computer chip that is a first step in having a computer that processes things like the human mind does. I gave four stars only because I thought the work did not include all that it could have. On the other hand, this field is expanding so rapidly any book in this area will have a hard time keeping up. The book is well written and easy to read. Anyone interested in this area can do a web search on terms like; "brain-computer," "Quantum Computing," "Cyborgs," "Mind Control Research," Micro/Nano Brain Implant," "Ethics in Emerging Technologies," and see reports of some of the latest work going on. If this is a new area for you, I recommend this book as a good starting place.

As an electrical engineer (BS EE) and software engineer (MS CS), I can humbly say I understand quite a bit about technology, where it is, and where it's going. That's what I do for a living and I'm curious to research and stay current. Having said that, I don't claim to know everything, of course!This book is deep and requires critical thinking while reading. The authors state facts and try to interpret or extrapolate to possible scenarios. As a reader, you need to be able to differentiate both. The implications of what is being discussed are tremendous in light of the socio-economic situation of our country and the world.As a Bible believing Christian, I hold to the end times position of the rapture happening after the tribulation but before the wrath of God upon the unbelieving world that will be under the one world government system of the antichrist. As such, this book fits well within my view of the end times. However, for those who believe in the pre-tribulation rapture or post millennium theology, you might find this book as a work of fiction.Having said that, whatever your end times theology is, this book is an eye opener for realizing the forces of darkness behind governments and the deliberate push for a one world government. The research done by the authors is very good and exhaustive with references to double check their content.What I take out of it in a few words is the following. Since I am in this world, I am not of this world, neither shall I cleave to this world. The Bible is right to say those who are friends of the world are enemies of God because this world is indeed controlled and directed by Satan himself and what they do in darkness is very evil and wicked. I cleave to the Lord Jesus Christ and there is nothing better than to walk in His commandments.If anything, this book is 10 times better than an science fiction movie Hellywood can put out. I recommend it!

I thought this book was exciting to read and frightening as well. As a BORN AGAIN Christian and a pastor of a Church, I see technology preparing for the rise of the Antichrist and I see the church (most of church) asleep dreaming of the good oh days. This book help confrim what I have been preaching and suspect that God's plan is when the rapture of the church happens, this will be the "trigger event" that will propel the antichrist to "answer" mankind's questions and clam their fears. For the most part, the world without christians or the church, people all around the world are ready to sell their soul for the short time of peace and comfort. They are not aware that hell is about to be unleashed upon the world for rejecting Jesus, God's only begotten Son. God's judgements will be swift and nothing like this earth has ever seen or ever will see again. This book will send a wake call if read. If you are a christian that left up your head, our redemption is close at hand. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, today is the day of your salvation, call upon his name and you will be saved.

This book is for the novice or one who may only want to know the basic facts about biotech as well as one who wants to delve deeply into the subject. I did find myself skipping over some areas where the scientific info was more than I cared to get into since I'[m a preacher and care only for the basics and how they relate to scripture, but there are a lot of resources and this is a recommended read for anyone who wants to find out what is on the horizon. We should note that while the timetable is not ours but God's we know that the mark will one day be here. The scenarios are also up to Him who rules the universe even though the basics are already outlined in his Word.

This book gets me thinking about technology and all that the Bible has to say about the coming end times

There aren't enough stars to rate this book! It should be in every personal and public library! Very timely, factual, well-researched and documented. Nobody can make this stuff up! Highly recommend that EVERYBODY have a copy. It's definitely a "whistle blower" on what the elite have planned for humanity...in the VERY NEAR future! Well written; easy to read; worth its weight in platinum! These authors are definitely anointed and called for such a time as this!

Eye opening, provocative.A quick and easy read, yet not so easy to swallow.There us no bliss in ignorance!
