I've been putting RJ45's on cable for years, not a pro but consider myself competent at least. This crimper is a game changer in my opinion. Always struggled with really short cable ends that take an age to get in the connector correctly. This has changed all that and I wonder how I managed without it before now. Great piece of kit for fifteen quid.

Disappointingly does not crimp properly each time

This tool is not pushing the pins enough resulting in faulty connections. There is no way to fix it. It cuts the wires though.

When I worked in IT, I did a fair amount of network installs and support, and a fairly common problem was the clip that broke on RJ45 connectors, mostly because they had the boot missing and staff were never careful with cables and connectors. We had professional tools that allowed us to quickly put on a new RJ45 plug to either repair or when doing custom installs.Now, this crimp tool is far from a professional tool, and will take a few minutes to setup and use but it does a fairly decent job for light home usage or the occasional home business/office repairs.As I had plenty of experience, it was easy, for some it may take a few tries, although having good quality moulded RJ45 jacks definitely will help the [process.It will crimp metal shrouds/clips and cut wire ends in jack. The central body is made of hard plastic but the rest is all metal, included the lever action which adds some nice weight.There’s a handy printed wiring diagram on the body too which is useful.It’ll serve its purpose and is a good purchase.

Easy to use and not bulky like other tools at the same price.

This RJ45 Crimping Tool from 3REE is a reasonably priced tool that is designed to terminate CAT5e, CAT6 & CAT7 cables to make your own patch leads. Included in this pack is the Crimping Tool and cable stripping tool which are both well made.This crimping tool has quite a common design and is very lightweight compared to some of the older RJ45 crimping tools that I own. The new design is much more ergonomic and I've found this tool really effective to use compared to my previous ones. I work in telecommunications and have to make up my own patch leads quite a lot so using this has been a breath of fresh air. Each termination that I've made has been successful and I've found the cable stripping tool to be useful also, removing the outer sheath without damaging the conductor insulation which prevents contact faults.I'm really impressed with this crimper and will continue using it in future. It's fairly priced, very effective and good quality. If you're after a RJ45 Crimping tool for either home or work usage this is definitely worth considering.

Making your own Cat5/6 cables with the right wires in the right positions can be a miserable and frustrating experience. Having a kit like this makes rather easier than just using a simple crimper.This tool helps you strip the cable sheath back, helps you position the wires and handles the connector. Instructions provided are pretty good too.Unless you make up Cat5/6 cables all day every day and become an expert at it, I don't think making up your own cables will ever be a completly painless experience, but this tool certainly takes the sting out of the process.
