Changed my life
Before I got these bearings, I was about as good as a blue-collar middle-aged dad trying to help his son fit in with the cool kids by teaching him to skateboard, but never rode before and had a bad back and a receding hairline. I needed to step up my game because the fellas at the skate park were always laughing at me and making fun of me, egging my house, and sleeping with my girlfriend. They even found where I worked and sabatoged my job. My career was in shambles, relationship on the brink of destruction, and life slowly crumbling. I tried playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, but not only did Tony quit in the game, the developers at Activision sued me for ruining not just their game but skateboarding itself, and then they egged my house and slept with my girlfriend. Even the cochroaches packed their bags and left. I thought hope was lost. Then, one day I decided to get on Amazon to buy my girlfriend something nice in hopes she would come back to me - and I saw it. In the "suggested for you" section, an ad for $9.99 Bones Reds Precision Skateboard Bearings. Because I lost my job I only had $10 left. This was the moment my life changed. I decided I needed these bearings to win her back. As soon as I clicked "submit order" the doorbell rang. It was Tony Hawk himself! He apologized for his character leaving in the game, and gave me a signed deck. When the bearings arrived my old boss called and apologized for firing me, egging my house, and sleeping with my girlfriend and offered me my job back. I took it, within a month was promoted to corporate manager and fired the crap outta my old boss. Then egged his house and slept with his girlfriend. The first time I rode with these bearings it was like heaven itself had descended upod me. A chorus of angels sang as I performed a fakie 720 backside impossible from a dark slide. Tony Hawk asked me to teach him and those fellas at the skate park now belong to a legally recognized religion devoted to worshipping me. I haven't had to pay for my own meal in months. My girlfriend came crawing back, but by that time I had so many women it was hard keeping them all straight, so I developed an app for keeping all your women organized and am now making millions from that. Most of the US has come together and decided to write me in on the next election regardless if I run, and their group grows daily. I decided to opt out of all X-games to make things a bit more fair. There's practically nothing I can't do and nothing I don't own and no woman I don't have. These bearings will change your life! I would recommend these to anyone who wants to be more successful at skateboarding and life. Is a small price to pay not worth a completely celestial transformation?

Excellent bearings for bass drum pedals
I needed to replace bearings in my Iron CobraBass drum pedals. I remember using these bearings from skateboarding so I bought a set for my pedals. It’s almost night and day from the bearings Tama put in their Iron cobras to these Redz. Plus, unlike what Tama used, I can and still know how to service these bearings.

Still awesome!
I’m glad to see these are still being made. It was pretty nostalgic installing the same bearings that I used to use on my kids’ boards.Great upgrade!

No better than the original ABEC 5 bearings in my Razor A5
I replaced the original bearings in my Razor A5 Lux Scooter with Bones Reds. I wanted to know how much difference they made, so I ran some time trials coasting down a hill with each set of bearings. In my tests, the Bones Reds performed just as well as the original Razor bearings, but no better. My first runs seemed to show that the A5 was actually slower with the Bones Reds than with the original bearings. Not the immediate improvement I was expecting, based on what I've read in various reviews. Still, I thought maybe the Reds would do better after they had been broken in; so I rode the A5 with them from October to April, then did more testing. In my latest tests, I made 15 runs with each set of bearings, coasting down a hill over a distance of 710 feet. I averaged the elapsed times recorded for each set of bearings, and both averages were 44 seconds. I obtained maximum speeds and speeds at the finish line for each run from a track log recorded with a GPS. Again, there was no difference in the averages of the maximum speeds or the finishing speeds between the Bones Reds and the original Razor bearings. The time trials were run during a period of about two and a half hours. I removed the wheels and wiped away any dirt from the bearings before starting the test. The wind was calm, but I still switched the bearings several times during the test to even out any effects that any slight unperceived wind or changing temperature might have.I know that the Bones Reds were properly installed and in good working order, because my wheels would spin between 5 and 6 times longer with them than with the original bearings. But free-spinning times in an unloaded condition do not correlate to how bearings perform under load. This has been demonstrated by several people in the NYCKickscooters Yahoo group.Maybe in a skateboard or in skates Bones Reds make more of a difference; but in my Razor A5 scooter, they are no better than the ABEC 5 bearings that it came with.

Absolutely amazing bearings! DO NOT CLEAN WITHOUT COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO DO SO
These bearings are amazing!PROS:Extremely smooth rideQuietFairly fast. Not as good as Bones Swiss or Ceramic, but these are better than a lot of bearings out there.CheapCONS:Get dirty fairly easilyThat brings me to the most important part of this review: CleaningI cleaned my bearings because they became dirty after much use. I used 70% Alcohol to soak them in, and then dried them using a hair dryer. I then re-lubed with Bones Speed Cream (another product I highly recommend buying). Anticipation of my renewed speed coursing through me, I stepped onto my board. I pushed and...not only did I not notice a speed increase, I noticed a slight speed decrease. Also, the bearings began to make a slight grinding sound. Tiring after a few days of this, I attempted to clean my bearings yet again (I know, really smart right?). However, upon re-installment into my board I realized that the grinding noise had in fact gotten louder. The moral of my story: DO NOT attempt to clean or re-lube these bearings in any way without being completely and utterly sure of what you are doing. Not having this knowledge ruined my first set of these bearings. However, I am buying a new set, so again I would say these are amazing bearings!
