Heavy is relative. It probably doubles the weight of the iPad with it attached. However, it needs to feel solid with the weight and it does. With the case it still only feels about the same weight as my Surface Pro. In the description it says it weighs 2.03lbs, makes the iPad feel like a thin laptop.
