Better than the standard Dropcam.
This is a great upgrade over the standard Nest Dropcam. We bought a standard Dropcam, which has been great, for use as a baby monitor. When we had another kid we decided to get another camera and saw this upgraded, refurbished, unit at the same price we paid for the other. I've had good luck with refurbished electronics (including this one) so I didn't hesitate. I LOVE how much wider of an angle this gives over the standard, and the picture quality is better too.They both allow you to have conversations through them, but they work like a walkie talkie where you can't both talk at once which is kind of annoying. Mostly we just use it to listen though so no big deal.If you can have the volume on with your devices screen turned off I haven't figured out how so we got a cheap baby monitor for the sound. Honestly we use it more than these but I still like having the video option.

Very Reliable
I have these cameras in two different houses and they are remarkably reliable. They have never gone offline on their own - only (and obviously) in the case of a power outage.

Good product, but bad value with additional $10/month recording service
This is my third Dropcam speaker. I guess I like them enough to keep buying, but I'm always a little mad each time I do... because not only are the speakers $150 each, but you have to spend $5-$10 per month for the "cloud video recording" service - which is the only option since there's no onboard memory or SD card slot. I do like the app and notifications, and the Dropcam is still the best I've found - but I don't think it's a good deal for the price.
