I bought this for my husband. Initially, he loved it. He followed the directions to the letter, put in all the mixture, was happily anticipating the finished results when he noticed it was leaking. He called the company, was told to use boiling water and start again. He did that and it still leaked. He called the company, they requested the paperwork from the purchase and when we supplied that, they sent a new one so they good marks on customer service. We followed the instructions, used boiling water for twice the time that was suggested, put in the flavoring, etc. It seemed fine for a few days but now we have noticed the second one is leaking also. Because water molecules are slightly larger than alcohol molecules, it hold water just fine but it allows those smaller alcohol molecules to leak right through. We’re giving up, have emptied it and it now looks cute sitting on a shelf. If you want something cute and personalized, this is great. If you want to enjoy some homemade whiskey, good luck!

Very nice craftsmanship. Sturdy little barrel. Made right the first time. Came with finalizing instructions to finish the cure process before use, which is nice because I got a barrel forme somewhere else and it didn't come with finishing instructions. The seller also backs their product if there are any concerns. I love the personalization of it. I could still smell the char of the etching when I opened it.

Much smaller than I thought it would be! When I took it out of the box one of the metal rings fell off....fixed it with super glue!Giving it as a gift so I’ll see how the recipient likes it! Seems a bit overpriced for what you get.

I ordered this for my husband for Christmas. After following all the instructions for Seasoning the barrel still leaked during the fermenting and the black bands stained the wood. I complained and the company sent me another one. The new one leaks as well and we’ve had 2 batches in it. When it was turned slightly, it leaked again, this time staining my granite counter top. I bought my son one from Wine Enthusiasts and his has never leaked nor did the bands stain the outside. His was also a nicer quality of wood. I would not recommend buying this product!

Beautiful oak barrel very high quality. I own a small antique oak barrel and this is just as nice in quality. The custom engraving is perfect for gift giving and will make a family heirloom in years to come.

Sent this as a Christmas gift to my boss and he said that he and his wife thought it was the neatest ideal, in fact with his kids coming home for the holidays that they are going to create their own batch as a family. The product shipped on time and arrived as advertised. Good company to work with.

I bought this for my husband for a birthday gift. He LOVED how unique it was. As described, it came with the whole kit to make our own scotch and more importantly, incredibly clear instructions to prep the barrel and make the scotch. We haven't tried the scotch yet (it needs to age some of course), but regardless of how it turns out it is still an excellent addition to our dry bar! We are both so excited to try the adult beverage we get after it finishes aging!

AMAZING!!! The engraving (or whatever you call it) was perfect and it is absolutely beautiful!!! Looks high quality and I was actually surprised by how many different flavors came with it. I would highly recommend this as a gift for the scotch lover in your life. Let's hope when we try it out it works as good as it looks!
