Lent in Plain Sight: A Devotion through Ten Objects

Needed the book for a study course.

I love this series, I am hooked now wanting more!

From Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday and all of the Holy Week, Jill Duffield uses objects found in the Bible and still commonly found in the 21st century as tangible teaching aids that remind us of the timelessness of the story of Jesus to help us remember Him daily (which is important!). But also that, in those same objects, there is godly power and spiritual depth beyond the superficial.The same might be said of us.Concise -- no more than 2-3 pages for each day eliminated the excuse of not "having enough time". When attempting to stick with a daily devotional over a period of 47 days, this one is practical for every person.The daily reflections were excellent. Many times I end up skipping these at the end of a devotional reading because they are too broad or too specific to feel personal. Jill gets it right here and finds questions that we should all ask ourselves.Every year, I choose a different devotional to follow for the 40+ days of Lent, but this might be the last one I need to buy. I'm planning to use it every year to prepare my heart for Easter Sunday. He is risen!
