Solved my problems
This does exactly what it says, wireless android auto in my 2016 Insignia. The built in android is OK though a bit fiddly to use. Would be better if Bluetooth auto connected to my phone.

Too many issues
Dreadful not fit for purpose, has potential but way too many issues considering the cost, I expected better from carlinkit. Returned for refund
