I bought this for my 15 month old who is really good with his fine motor skills. He had no difficulty getting the beads onto the wooden sticks. I like how you can teach your child more than one thing with this toy - placing the beads on the sticks helps them build their fine motor skills; the colored beads help them learn their colors; the provided wooden stacking patterns will help you child understand patterns as they grow. This is one of those toys that grows with your child so it turns out to be a good investment. The piece I recieved was of good quality although the a couple of the sticks were a little bent but that is expected wen you purchase something make of wood vs. plastic. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Great learning toy for my 2 year old granddaughter. She doesn’t try to match the patterns yet but runs to this toy as soon as she gets to the house. She loves stacking the beads and just playing with them aside from the stacking poles and box. I have purchased several Melissa and Doug toys and they are well made, bright and colorful.

The is a great learning toy! You want to buy it. I owned it for my older kids and passed it along. Bought it again for my youngest.My only problem with this one is the slot for the cards is too tight. Wasnt like that on my older version. I know how it's supposed to be. This is a tiny inconvenience.I used to take this to homeschool co-ops along with a few other items for the preschool class. Very sturdy.

Beads are nice size and the colors are bold. The sequence boards are nicely done. The kids enjoy it (2 yr old and 4 yr old). They play with them under the watchful eyes of parents and then the beads are put away. Almost perfect. I would have added a lid to the boxes so the pieces wouldn't get as easily lost as I am sure will happen in the future. Also I would have added a string for lacing the beads (just another way to add a feature). Don't hesitate to buy. We love this

I bought this for my 2 year old so the pattern component is beyond her, but she loves to sort the colors, slide the shapes onto the pegs, and stack them (and watch them fall!).We did notice a fairly strong smoky smell upon opening. My husband says it smells like food; I'd say it is similar to a campfire.I do wonder if the plastic "lid" will last, but so far so good.Also one of the pattern boards is a little too thick to easily fit into the divot.Nothing is a deal breaker; it's still a good toy!

I bought this for a little boy with a lot of sensory problems and this really helped with his Occupational Therapy. He had a lot of fun sequencing and making patterns.

I absolutely love all of your items! I have purchased several things from Melissa and Doug and have yet to be disappointed. The product is exactly what I wanted. The beads are small enough for little hands, but big enough for manipulating the patterns. I love that it stacks onto the poles and the pattern cards are very colorful.

I purchased this product for my 5 year old son who has developmental delays and sensory issues to help with his visual perception. I have been very pleased with how much he enjoys replicating the patterns with the sticks and beads. At first I thought the sticks seemed a little flimsy, but they have taken a beating, literally. Before we are done playing with this set the sticks often get used as drum sticks and have not broken yet. I love that each of the different items have their own section to be placed in the storage box.
