Nice and big. I am one who mixes, blends and all that a lot. I waste a loto f space, and that's just how I paint :P This graduated me from a tiny space to a bigger space. I was thrilled. I have since went to palette paper which gives even MORE space but you can't use Palette paper effectively with craft paint, and when I paint with the kiddies, that's what I use, so that's when this comes in handy.

Worth the money. Palette is just big enough and it is feather light. It was nice getting a Free color wheel and a Free palette knife of a size that I did not have...nice bonus buy.

For the price, I can't argue for what you get but my personal preference is to use a palette made of metal.
