Looks like a hunting knife
This is an excellent kitchen knife. Well balanced, nice in the hand and oh, so sharp. The knife is sheer opulence from the outset. Really posh packaging and once open, the knife blade is encased in a thick quality leather sheaf and lies nestled in the velveteen packaging. My first impression on opening though, was that there had been some mistake and I had received a hunting knife instead of a kitchen knife. It looks seriously mean and feels a little over done. The blade is decorated with an intricate pattern and the handle feels pure quality. This knife begs for someone who really knows what they are doing in the kitchen and sadly, the poor thing has me. But hey, it certainly draws me to up my gain and no blood has been drawn so far. Having excellent tools will always improve a worker’s skills and who knows, this knife has certainly inspired me to improve my skills. This item would make a wonderful gift but you’d need fairly deep pockets as, at £75.97 at the time of writing, this knife is not cheap.

A bit lighter than anticipated
I am a keen cook and when this Zelite Infinity Utility Knife came up for review, I jumped at the chance. On arrival, it comes in a nice presentation box. It also has a handy leather sheaf to protect the blade in kitchen draws when not in use. Aesthetically, it is a nice looking kitchen knife, although looks aren't everything! The knife is a lot lighter in weight than I would expect from such an expensive knife, but it does make it easy to use. The balance between the knife and the handle I find every so slightly out of balance, and would prefer the blade to be a bit heavier, but this is a personal preference. With regards to the blade sharpness, it is perfect. I've used this for a variety of food preparation, and it cuts through root veg with ease, as well as meat. I have owned and reviewed other kitchen knives on Amazon, and I have to say that whilst this Zelite is of exceptional quality, and I can still recommend it to you, I have reviewed other knives and given them 5-stars as I think there are better value knives made to this same standard.

Well made and designed kitchen knife
Package arrived nicely and I couldn’t believe it is supposed to be a” kitchen knife .Looks very stylish, so much nicer than the usual kitchen knife. The design seems really cool .You can feel the material/steel of the blade is absolutely amazing quality, feels very solid and sturdy, it seems as if it won't bend or blunt , will last for ever. However Sharpness seems a little low, might need to be sharpened once.I have used it to cut some vegetables, cheese, etc…..I actually feel this knife is not very practical in the kitchen, it’s small, narrow and light, using it in the kitchen doesn’t seem ideal. But if you bring it to a picnic table or BBQ , it would be a great choice. Now I have put it in the drawer coz I have no other specific place for it, its design and style doesn’t seem to match my kitchen.Based on my personal experience with it, I have to knock one star off.

Very good mid range knife
This is overall a very good mid range general utility knife. It'll probably become one of your most used knives. Quality is good as is appearance, at least if you're not a big knife fan. For me the blade is a bit too much 'machined' style and lacks that hand made, every knife is different look. Too standardised. The blade itself is very sharp and easily slips through card - forget paper, zero challenge there. I'd prefer if the knife didn't have the black screen printed wording on it - makes it look a bit cheapo. I do like the excellent quality leather protective sleeve. This will make a big difference if you use it in a drawer rather than it being stored in a block on via a wall magnet strip. So day to day usability will be good I'm sure. Whether it holds sharpness over time we'd need to see. Do buy a suitable sharpener and use very regularly. I doubt anyone would be sorry for buying this knife and it'll get much use. It's priced rather less than my own similar knives, but does as good a job at this point.Aesthetics is a funny and rather personal thing. I love that my Japanese knives are hand made and fill me with confidence. Function will be very similar but for way less money here.

Not really a cut above the rest
It's got to be five stars for sharpness. Cutting through any kind of meat, fish, vegetables or fruit is so easy, but so is my wife's Zwilling Pro set. The Zelite comes in a pleasant presentation box but I thought the knife looked pretty tacky. I can't see the point of the multi-hued coloured handle, the laser-etched ripple effect on the blade or the decorative design on the very small rivet that holds the handle onto the knife. This design would make more sense on the larger flat metal end.Compared to a Zwilling knife it's sort of no contest. Their knives have three rivets absolutely flush to the handle. The ends of the knife's handle slightly curve providing a non-slip option for the hand's little finger. The blade metal is sandwiched between the two handles with a perfect flush finish. When not in use the Zwilling Pro set knives look just right, with a simple elegant design that is really lacking in the fussy looking Zelite. Printed on the blade it says: 'Japanese Aus10 super steel 45-layer. HRC 61+/- liquid nitrogen cooling.' What's that all about? The little booklet that comes with the knife says that dishwasher use is not recommended.

Chinese Made Item
This is another well made knife but slightly misleading in describing it as Japanese given that it is made in China. There seems to be quite a few manufacturers trying to muscle into this market. It's not cheap that's for sure but it is pretty impressive.I must admit I've never seen a kitchen knife before with a holder like this before. It looks like the sort of thing scouts used years ago.It comes well packaged so I'd say they are thinking this is probably seen as a gift item for the amateur home chef.
