Prevention of tick borne illness has always been an important topic. However, with the recent climate changes and longer seasons, it is more important than ever to be prepared to tackle ticks. Created by a veterinarian in france, the tick twister pro is known worldwide as the proven best tick removal tool on the market. No tweezers, matches, or spoon shaped devices that risk squeezing the abdomen of the tick into the patient or leaving mouth parts behind

Buy this ASAP. So easy and effective.
We have a large back yard surrounded by woods and lots of deer and other animals, so we have a lot of ticks every year. In one week we had 2 ticks crawling on us, so I hurried and ordered these as soon as I heard of them. Thank goodness I did, because last night my husband found a tick stuck in him that had apparently come from the weekend, so it was in pretty good. I had heard that peppermint oil will make the tick release and back out, so I tried that first just to see if it works. The tick definitely did not like the peppermint oil (essential oil, pure therapeutic grade) and lifted its body up instantly, but did not release or back out. However, it was easier to slip the tick twister under the tick. I used the larger size because this was a big tick, lifted gently and twisted. My husband said it pinched when the tick popped out, but it truly took only a few turns of the tick twister and the entire tick was out. Absolutely no part of the tick remained in the skin. This was WAY easier than using tweezers, with no pinching of the skin and no breaking off of the head. And it was much easier to actually hook the tick than trying to grab it with tweezers. Apparently the peppermint oil killed the tick because it was moving its legs on his skin, but never moved at all after removal. I will probably use the peppermint oil along with the tick twister again, although I believe the tick twister is absolutely effective on its own. I can't believe how helpful the tick twister was, especially since it's not expensive. Buy it even if you don't normally see ticks because you never know when you might need to pull one out and this takes all the stress out of removal.

Works!
After bringing by daughter to Urgent Care to remove an embedded, broken off tick head, and that trauma as they scraped it out with a needle, I ordered this. Not a month later, she got another tiny, black legged tick on her. This worked perfectly to remove it. We live in the middle of the woods in an epidemic area, so we'll get our use out of this for sure!

Easy and Effective
Unfortunately we have to use these things all the time on our Labrador and ourselves. I like to hike, and the dog likes to run through and lay in the grass. We live in the upper-Mississippi River valley and there are a lot of ticks here. I keep a set at home, and another in my first aid kit.Unlike tweezers, these keep the tick intact, which means you don't leave the head or mouth parts in your or your pet's skin when removing the tick--which can cause additional infection. It's easy to use. You don't have to touch the tick with your fingers if your grossed out by that. I would highly-recommend to anyone who lives around grassland or woodland areas, or people who generally enjoy the outdoors.

This thing works.
This thing works!!! Pulled so many, too many, ticks off my little puppy last year. (We are all dosed up on the right meds now, old meds were ineffective). The ticks were so bad. Worked every time. We use the big one of the two, and it's never failed.NOTE: It does not kill them. Have the toilet lid up and grab the thing from the Twister with a piece of toilet paper you have prepared prior. Throw those bastards in the toilet and flush.

A good deal for a very good tool!
We picked up one of these about a month or so ago for our dogs. Our Westie mix is a little guy and we are in a very rural area. He is always coming in from outside with a tic or two.. even though we use flea and tic drops every month.I have to say, that I'm very impressed with this little gadget, and I don't impress very easily. We have tried a few different ways and devices to remove tics over the years, but this one is simple and so far, very effective.Since our Westi likes to 'fidget', it's easier when one has his attention and tries to hold him in one place, while the other pulls the hair back, slips the 'forks' under the tic and rotates this little gizmo counter-clockwise... No pulling, no fighting with the tic, no leaving the mouth part of the tic and most importantly, no pain to our dog.I do see that you have to be ready with a bottle of some sort to put the tic in, once it's removed. If you pause too long, they can drop off the fork and back into your pets fur they will go, or worse, loose it and find it biting you next. I use an old medicine bottle and one of those alcohol wipe pads dropped in to kill the tic once and for all.If your pet travels with you, I would strongly suggest one for each car and one for your home, or maybe one for your keychain as it has a handy hole in the end for a kitchen cup type hook or a chain. The nubs on the handle make it easy to control the angle of 'attack' and for the twisting motion needed to remove the tic. My wife has a pretty bad case of arthritis in her fingers-hands and she is able to use it if I'm not around..Over-all, this tic removal tool is a safe and an inexpensive bet.. Pick up a few so your sure to have one when needed.Although Christmas is over with for this year, they would make great and inexpensive gifts for friends with pets too.. Everyone should have a few of these around the house...

Removed my tick beautifully
Best five dollars I ever spent. I woke up with a dog tick in my foot and it was nice to have this little package set aside in my hiking backpack ready to attack it. Worked well. I did the final removal with my fingers as the sucker would not release totally. Probably should have been a bit more protective.

Veterinarian recommened!
2012 and 2013 were the first in the 15 years we've lived in the Ponconos that we've met the Ticks from Hell. These would be the Lyme Disease carriers. If you've ever had to pull 4 ticks off of your dog in one day, and have your spouse pull one or two from you and then inexplicably found one IN your house, then you're with me. We've read all the "How To" articles and used anything and everything we could think of to perform this task on our dogs both correctly and expediciously, even trying to make our own tool. Our vet sold us one of these. I bought two more: one back up and one for my purse. Standing in line with my service dog in orderto pick up a prescription, I was informed by the lady behind me that there was a tick on my back! I was freaking out but she was great with a tweezer, I was lucky. NOW I'M PREPARED! This thing is fantastic.

Even works on baby blackbirds!
Bought this for our holiday in Wales but used it before we got there. A baby blackbird stunned itself flying into the window, we noticed it had 2 ticks on its head near its eye so used our tool to get them out. Quick and easy even with a delicate bird! Feeling very David Attenborough. 10/10

I had used these before, but bought some credit card shaped tick removers thinking they would be less fiddly. Wrong decision, I’d forgotten that ticks tend to find the most awkward place to attach and the card shape didn’t necessarily fit. Went back to the tick twister and although fiddly it is so much easier!

Simple and effective
I bought this product after travelling to Switzerland last year with our dog, and finding that it picked up ticks that are really hard to remove. (We treat the dog with deterrent drugs which may help but are not full proof). So this year, back in Switzerland, the dog acquires a tick within a week. This tool is so easy to use (just watch the video on their website) and works perfectly.Aside from doing the job, it also removes the human stress of worrying about the tick and how to remove the damn thing! One other thing - before you start the removal, make sure you have a jar or PET bottle with an inch of alcohol in it (can be surgical or simply some old brandy or vodka you can live without). Drop the tick in the alcohol straight afterwards. Otherwise, they can jump off and reattach to the animal! The alcohol will kill it, but we keep a dedicated bottle now, ready for the next one.For anyone travelling with a dog in Europe, this tool is a no-brainer purchase.

Must-have physical tick removal tool for all dog/cat owners
Does the job. Living in a rural area with an ever increasing deer population means ticks are a fact of life; having effective removal tools are a must-have unless routine vet visits are desirable for other reasons. Over-the-counter tick control remedies (Front line) are largely ineffective in this area; so grooming and physical removal are the way for us to control the risk of tick infestation.
