Had it almost 2 years and it's still going strong so sound quality. I love the option to play a noise, helpful when my baby was younger and even my older child loves this if he a little scared in the dark. If you turn the noise on and then the cry sensor off then it stays on all night. I use mine every night and it never turns off unless turned off. I used the cry sensor for 3 months but found that it was no longer suitable for us and so turned it off and it plays from the second I sit down to breastfeed my little one before I put him in his crib, to the second I get up on a morning.
