Heads up: If you homeschool and use Khan Academy, the material in this book (which is presumably 6th grade) is already covered in 5th grade on Khan Academy. There is no new material here.That said, I like the layout of this book, so hopefully course 2 or 3 will cover my needs. My daughter largely homeschools independently, and this book would have been perfect. No need for a textbook, workbook, and notebook. There is even room on the margins to show work.

I can't stand common core math - but the book was needed for my son's class. There is a Volume one and a Volume 2 and BOTH are identical in design so read carefully as to which one you are ordering. Most schools use Volume 1 for the 1st 1/2 of the year and move onto Volume 2 for the second half.
