Micarta/D2 Tanto
The elementum is a solid design, the tanto model is no different. I like the texture and grippiness of the micarta scales. Quick touch up got the blade popping hairs.

Sharp Blade and Sharp Look
I’m a knife enthusiast. I typically carry a Benchmade, Case XX or Spyderco. I needed something durable and inexpensive to carry for every day use at work so I ordered this CIVIVI. Out of the box the knife was razor sharp and has held an edge despite the rigorous use. The quality of the blade and the knife itself is amazing! You would honestly feel like this should be priced 2x, if not 3x, more than it is. Will be adding more CIVIVIs to my collection.

Beautiful knife!
I just received and unboxed this beautiful knife!! At first view it looks awesome! I got it onsale on Amazon for $40 and purchased with Xmas money from my folks. Easily flipped open with one hand and very smooth. Little larger then I usually carry for my EDC but that's what it's going to be used for so I will get used to it. Nice and sharp right put of the box. I normally don't post reviews but I had to make one for this knife. I love it!

Very nice for the Price.
Well made knife with very good fit and finish, especially for this price point. Fairly sharp out of the box.My first Tanto blade and not a bad one at at that. 4 stars is a very good rating on first blush. Will have to see how it keeps an edge.Update: after a time with the knife, there is a small gap between the scales and knife body. It has been quite cold recently. If knife is in the pocket, the fit is better, but when on the dresser It seems as if the different material expansion causes the slight gap. Just enough gap for a fingernail.

My first civivi knife and love it
I love this knife, I have never bought one before until now. I've seen videos on Blade HQ talking about this brand before and had it on my list of brands to purchase. This knife opens really effortlessly and smooth. The quality feels good and just the right amount of weight. I currently have close to 30 knives that I've collected since high-school and I'm 44 now and the collection will keep growing. This knife is one that I will carry when I'm out to a nice dinner or fancier gathering. The knife looks nice and would compliment that type of setting. Whoever is reading this you would not be disappointed with your purchase I bought two of these, one for my nephew who graduates this coming Friday and one for me.

Been Waiting for this One
Great value, beautiful knife, just what I expected. I've polished some of the black coating off and attached a lanyard & thumb stud. So far unable to locate a brass back spacer, but I'm pleased without it.Now, it's a custom piece for the collection. jb

Great blade, but not pocket-friendly enough
I’m a BIG fan of the Civivi ELEMENTUM pocket knife. I have one with carbon fiber scales and a gorgeous Demask blade in the standard shape. I adore that knife. I think (for me anyway) that the Tanto blade shape is the best. You will have two distinct edges that stay sharp longer and are easier to resharpen too. Unfortunately Civivi only offers this black coated blade with plastic scales (if you can find them) or these solid copper/brass scales. This knife has two flaws: it’s very Heavy in the pocket. Forget carrying it in pants or shorts with an elastic waistband. Drop Trow’! The other flaw is the black coating. Be careful as you can, it WILL wear off in spots and on the edges with resharpening. It will look terrible then. Give me a natural steel tanto blade in some lightweight tough scales and I’m King!UPDATE: I have replaced the solid brass scales with curly maple scales made in Canada by a great seller on E T S Y. These wood scales are perfectly machines and finished and fit precisely. It was surprisingly simple to change them out. Just be sure to have the correct sizes of Torx driver bits on hand. And use Locktite thread o king fluid. GREAT result. Light and grippy enough, no longer a Heav pocket item.
