Boils relatively faster than your normal electric kettle
For homes where you use an electric kettle frequently with kids around, I would recommend buying an insulated one. This however isn't heat insulated. Boils faster than usual kettles, the build quality is great. This is my first appliance from Russell Hobbs and after using it I see myself buying other Russell Hobbs appliances in the future as well, I have come to trust their build quality.

Almost perfect.....
I bought this to replace my trusty Porsche Design toaster that I’ve had for about 15 years so it had some pretty big shoes to fill. Amazingly though I’m really impressed with this little machine, for the money it’s brilliant! It looks great with it’s brushed metal casing and the functions work well. I love you can lift your toast to check on it without cancelling the cooking mode. Best of all it makes the nicest toast I think I’ve ever had, lovely and even, much better than Mr Porsche did, I think he should stick to cars. It loses a point for the size of the slots, an extra cm would be good, although I can just about fit my favourite Warburtons Farmhouse bread in if I put it in sideways and help it along. I also miss the bun rack on my old machine but they don’t seem to exist of this style of toaster, never mind, it’s nice and compact so takes up little space. I highly recommend this toaster, I’m very happy with it.

Russell Hobbs 24081 - Superb little toaster
Superb little toaster. Took us longer than you'd think to decide on which one to buy because of getting sucked into all the reviews. But if you want a small, neat, efficient and reasonably priced toaster, that toasts evenly, then the Russell Hobbs 24081 is the toaster for you.

Cheapened Version of Buckingham/ Belmont kettle
I had a Belmont kettle (now called Buckingham) which only lasted three years before the switch broke off. This is one of the main causes of premature failure on these kettles. I bought the new Snowdon model because I though they would have improved it by now - but no - just cheapened it. The attractive blue led lighting has gone and now there is only a tiny light in the switch, the level gauges on both sides of the kettle have gone and now it is only on one side (the wrong side for right handed people as most would hold the kettle in the left hand and adjust the tap with the right hand). The switch looks as fragile as ever and the quiet boil perforated plate feature has been removed.Does it work? Yes but is easily the noisiest kettle we have ever had - the old spare Morphy Richards kettle we brought back in to use temporarily was hushed by comparison and just as fast to boil. Finally they say to boil it twice before use - try six times to get rid of the foul hot plastic smell inside when it has boiled. As ever these Chinese made products suffer a number of quality control issues but in the end it is down to the manufacturer to design in reliability.

Review for a kettle not a toaster!
Works well. Returned other kettles due to poor quality and awful tasting water. So opted for one with a metal body. This one had an unpleasant tasting water so I boiled it up three times, then washed inside with a bit of washing up liquid, rinsed out, refilled with water, boiled it again, threw water away and voila!IRapid boiling.Easy to fill with pop up lid.Stylish.Easy to clean.Bit noisy but that doesn't bother us.Outside can get hot to the touch. Be aware. Not impressed with the pointless red plastic 'cup level indicator' inside so popped it off the pipe. Not boiling plastic every time now.All in all very pleased. If you register online you get a year's extra warranty.

Great appliance
Bought this a couple of years ago and its still going strong. happy with the level of toastieness and how quickly it does the job. easy removal of the crumb tray. Ive been very happy with it.It is true what some reviews say about a large slice of bread sticking out a little, but if i ever wish to get everything toasted evenly, i just put the slice upside down for a little while longer- but I haven't had many instanced where i had to do this as i seem to be buying bread that fits perfectly haha.
