Keep the snow and mud off
This fender went on my Specialized Rockhopper 29er easily. I also installed an SKS X-Blade II on the rear. My main concern was that the fenders would come off easily and quickly when I don't need them. This fender does that. You just push in a small tab and it pops right off. The plastic seems pretty durable, I haven't hit anything with it yet so can't say how it will hold up to impact. The plastic is pretty thin overall but it seems flexible. To install this fender you put a plastic piece up inside the fork from the bottom and tighten the screw. They give you a bunch of different sizes so you can find one that fits your fork closely. I had no trouble with the installation at all.The only negative I have is that the fender wobbles a little from side to side in the mount. My cables press on the side of the fender a bit because of the way they are routed and that skews the fender somewhat.

Looked good, but broke soon after installation
This is the second of this model of fender I've bought for my bike with 700c wheels. The first one was a disaster because the bike shop that sold it to me installed one that (apparently) had been returned, and did not have the correct mounting bracket for this type of fender in the packaging. They mounted it with an L bracket and it never remained oriented forwards. I had to rig up a contraption with cable ties to get the thing to stay pointed in the direction of the wheel. I don't blame SKS for this -- the bike shop will not be getting any repeat business from me, though. When that one finally broke, I bought a replacement from Amazon. I was shocked at how easy it was to mount and position when the correct bracket was available, but literally the first time I took the bike on a ride after installing the fender, the orange plastic piece that is used to lock the fender to the mount snapped off, and while the fender has remained mounted on the bike wheel, I feel like it's only a matter of time before it slips off during a ride and has to be discarded, like the last one.I liked the styling of this fender a lot, but I'm so disappointed with its ability to not be broken, I probably won't buy another one again.

Great design, easy to install, I wish I can get this style for my road bike
This was by far the easiest fender to install on a bicycle. Once I found the cone that fit the fork, I used the included allen wrench, screw, and nut to secure the adapter and cone. The fender then slid into place and locked onto the adapter. There's a push button that disconnects the fender in the event it has to be removed for cleaning or bike servicing. The fender material is flexible enough to take impacts while the mud flap is soft enough to effectively reduce splashing and in case your foot hits it during a turn.Overall: 5/5 stars, very easy to install, superb quality and awesome overall design

No more face spray
Bought this to combat the spray in the face anytime it rained in Seattle, as infrequent as that is, and I hit over 15 mph. Had this on a number of times I've been out and it worked as hoped. It has completely kept the spray out of my face. I also have the back tire version of this on which has kept the spray off my back. They were quick to install and easy to remove if you don't want the 'extra weight', but I typically just leave them on this time of year (maybe I'll take them back off in June when it (kind of) stops raining.Using these on a Scott Scale 970 hardtail MTB.

works great, looks great
I recently bought a mountain bike with 29" wheels and after a couple of messy, muddy rides I searched Amazon for a fender for my front tire. I was getting tired of mud and dirt splashing on me and my water bottles. I've had SKS fenders on other bikes so I was happy to find they make one specifically for 29" wheels. This fender works great it's easy to install and does a great job of keeping mud off me and my water bottles and it looks great on my bike. I also like the fact that it easily snaps on and off. If you have a bike with 29" tires and are tired off getting covered with mud this is what your looking for.

your instructions are really terrible for this thing
Ok SKS Shockblade ... your instructions are really terrible for this thing.I just installed the head tube part and then ended up trying to install the fender portion only to have the plastic guides on one side break off. It is now barely hanging on and I have to purchase another front fender. This is a good lightweight fender system for mountain bikes ... but now I am having to pay double because your instructions suck.I also had to wrap the headtubes with black electric tape for a snugger fit up the headtube ... none of them fit exactly.

I must like 'em, I keep coming back..
Great fender for the winter wet! Only downside is the connection to the front fork, which loosens over time, and can fall out if not re-tightened. I've had to replace 2 others because they fell out, and parts were lost. They don't sell replacement parts as far as I know. Still, a good choice, works well, and is quite light.

Works great my only suggestion is if you have a newer ...
Works great my only suggestion is if you have a newer bike with the larger hole in the fork. The fender comes with several sizes cone inserts that expand to hold mount in place. I took an old bike tube cut a 2 1/2 inch section and lined the hole with it, so the expanding cone had something to grip to instead of the hard plastic. Takes less pressure to get firm hold and reduce the risk of cracking the cone from over tightening.

Perfect front mudguard.
I had previously purchased a Shock Blade rear mudguard for my old hybrid bike, and was very pleased with it. I transferred this to my new mountain bike and again it performed very well. I decided to purchase the front Shock Blade mudguard after being splattered with mud on a recent ride. Since fitting it to my bike, it has performed equally as well as the rear mudguard. I found it easy to fit and it looks good too!

Reasonable. No complaints.
Good. Keeps a surprising amount of muck off. Easy enough to fit and hasn't fallen off. I have it on a 29er with fairly wide tyres and this stops a lot of the spray (and all of the forward spray you get in your face) from hitting you.

Great front mudguard
Great front mudguard. Easy to install. I also cable tied the mudguard around the fork so it has zero chance of falling off. I use it with a crud catcher frame mounted guard and it keeps me and the bike clear of spray, dust and mud.

SKS Perfect For Lapierre Pro Race 229
A perfect fit for my Lapierre Pro Race 229- after much research and head scratching I settled on this SKS Series- when you have a front shock absorber you cant fit just any off the shelf mud guards! An almost perfect fit, easy to fit and very durable- worth the extra money, these will last forever! Highly recommended :)

not quite long enough for road use
Great product and generally keeps the spray out of your face, but in bad weather and standing water, the water is direct straight to your feet, so unless you are wearing protection for your trainers and ankles. Expect very wet feet. I think had it wrapped a little further around the back of the wheel, this may have been avoided.
