Labyrinth: The Ultimate Visual History

The Authors and Publisher SLAYED IT!
Packaging .. Well I have mixed feelings about this . It looks and feels lovely .The cover is hard back with some embossed details .But are some things like replicas of Jim Henson's notes and letters, that are glued and tucked in kinda scrapbook like. So this isn't something to be handled by small kids. I'm actually considering getting some plastic to cover the book. Maybe even a comic book storage bag for the extras. The cover design matches very well with the 30th Anniversary editions of the DVD and Blu Ray disks as well as the soundtrack cd.The contents are so richly detailed and easy to understand . I can tell a lot of love and hard work went into the research. Some of the pics and cast/crew interviews were taken from other sources like the" Making of..." documentary from the dvd/blu ray disks. But that's OK since some of the cast and crew are no longer with us. (RIP Jim Henson and David Bowie ) That's the only way their "voices/words" could be included with the rest .The print quality . The text is easy to read. I haven't noticed any spelling or grammar errors . The font that was used in the chapter titles is very pretty and it fits in well the look and feel of Labyrinth .All of the photos look fantastic ! You can see almost every detail in the costumes and sets. The colors of Brian Fraud ' s art are crisp and vibrant !Conclusion ! If you are a Jim Henson fan, get this book !If you are a film buff ,get this book!If you are a history buff, get this book!If you love art and photography , get this book !If you are a Brian Fraud fan, get this book !If you are a David Bowie fan, get this book!

I'm in love!!
Speechless!! This book far exceeds any expectations. I absolutely love it. Of course, I just received it so it will take time to read and look through all of the treasure filled pages. Probably the best visuals I've seen in a book to date. Can't wait to read it.

Interesting and fun book
I'm a huge fan of Jim Henson and of course love The Labyrinth so this book was a must have! This book features many different art works by Brian Froud and lots of insight into the production of the movie. What's super interesting and unique about this book is the inserts! I haven't seen this done before. I think this adds another dimension to the book, though sometimes it can be a little awkward when you want to read what's underneath.Overall it's a fantastic addition to any Labyrinth collection!

David Bowie signed the contract to be the most amazing..
I am such a huge huge fan of Labyrinth The day I was born was the day... David Bowie signed the contract to be the most amazing... Goblin King ever! The only reason I gave it a 4 star.. is because the package they sent it in was very "tight" around it, and sadly... the book it's self had some damage on the bottom corners of the book, it was all bent through to the pages even :(!!! other than that the book was just amazing and so worth getting if you're a fan of the story/movie.

Awesome book
I purchased this book as a gift for my sister who is a huge fan of the movie. I'm really impressed with the book itself. There is a lot of imagery and behind the scenes information. I love all of the added notes slipped in, like the storyboard drawings, the script pages with handwritten notes. The book itself was in great condition. The spine was still in tact, no bends in the pages. The book was also double wrapped in a bubble mailer that helped keep the corners from getting damaged. Great book and great seller!

Such a fun book!
This is perfect for fans! The pages are beautiful and extensive on the details that went into making the movie. By the time I was done looking through it I wished it hadn't ended! I live for big art books like these and this is definitely a worthy addition. My book got a little beat up in the corners during delivery, so be wary of that!

IN LOVE!
I received this amazing book today and I'm absolutely in LOVE with it! I grew up watching Labyrinth and to this day, I still love it, and always will! It's so well detailed and a MUST HAVE for every Jim Henson and Labyrinth fan. It's definitely a big favorite of mine, especially with me also a fan of David Bowie, God rest his soul. He was AMAZING as Jareth. No one else could've done a better job at that role than him. He was meant for it. This book is something special to have and to remember him. A work of art is what this is. Just gorgeous!

Love this!
The book is stunning! As far as the additional glued on pages go, I prefer them to be more scrapbook style, than just loosely glued in there. I suppose it was a good thing that they were though, because it was easy to remove the pages, and place them where I wanted then to be. The book is a great addition to the family out there.

Chilly Down with this Brilliant Tomb
I was worried this would just be basic character profiles and some production stills but I am blown away by how much content is in here! It chronicals the story's journey from a chat in the back of a limo, through various early drafts of the script (including story boards), and interviews with the production team on the the creation of the final film. It has double page spreads of concept art, inserted reproductions of scribbles and memos on Henson company notepaper, and captions it's photos knowingly ("Toby Froud today and yesterday: he reminds you of the babe.") A worthy "Ultimate Visual History" for this beloved film.

Highly informative
Wow! This book delivers such a lot of information in a really fun, page-turning format, with loads of loose leaves amongst the pages, glued by a corner, to add interest. Be careful when first reading/flicking through as some of the glue has spread to facing pages; you can ease them apart without damaging the book, but you do need to be careful. These loose pages are facsimiles of memos, script pages, a party invitation and, at the back, a reproduction poster advertising the completed movie. The foreword is written by Toby Freud, the now grown-up baby from the film.As you would expect from the cover blurb, this is a richly illustrated book that has loads of images from the shooting of the film, as well as storyboard drawings of the action to take place. It really is fascinating, a real page turner and a great gift idea for anyone that is a fan of the movie and/or David Bowie/Jennifer Connelly.

A stunning book
“Labyrinth: The Ultimate Visual History” is a wonderful art book related to the fantasy movie “Labyrinth” by Jim Henson, that in 2016 celebrated its 30th birthday. A cult movie, a masterpiece for people that in 1986 were kids or teenagers! The book tells everything about the movie, i.e. cast, plot, locations, set, costumes, conceptual artwork, paintings, props, backstage information and so on. All the pages are full of colors and pictures, especially set pictures and screenshots. In each section the reader will find some detachable items such as production letters and memos that help to understand all the creative process behind the movie. The edition quality is very good. It is a product that will really make “Labyrinth” fans happy, a must have !

Wow! Love it!
This was waiting for me when I got home from work on Thursday and I have struggled to put it down. When you first watch it as a child it's easy to be enchanted and fall in love with the characters. On reading this I can really appreciate the work which went into making it. I am so glad I grew up when this film couldn't have had CG. Any Labyrinth fan will love the details in this book. It's worth it for the photographs and illustrations alone. It would also make a lovely gift.
