Not sure why this has 1 star, mine works fine
This product is perfect for me to add extra ports to my gaming laptop! I haven't had an issue with this after owning it for a couple months and i love it! I only use it for extra USB ports and a secondary monitor but it works great regardless

Gateway to Many Devices!
Aside from a USB-A port (probably for a mouse), my new Surface laptop comes only with a USB-C port; how else can I connect devices to it? Using this product. Excellent!

Cannot charge the laptop through the power-delivery port
The ports on this USB-C hub worked for me. Another reviewer said that his Ethernet port didn't work, but it did work for me. At first it seemed like it didn't, but I restarted the computer while the Ethernet cable was plugged in and when it came back up the Ethernet connection was working. This is one of the features that appealed to me, as a lot of USB-C hubs don't include an Ethernet port. However, my big complaint is that, if I need to use, say, the HDMI port to connect to a projector or television, I cannot at the same time have my laptop plugged in to power because charging is through the same USB-C port. This hub has a pass-through USB-C power-delivery port, but it apparently only works to charge another device (say, a phone) from the laptop.

Ethernet Port Does Not work, OBF
One of the biggest flaws of ALL of these "multi-in-1" hubs seems to be the ethernet port, followed by the USB ports. This is no exception. The ethernet port was an OBF. (Out of box failure.) It simply didn't work.I immediately plugged the ethernet cable into my current mini-USB hub with an ethernet port, and, no problem. It worked. Back to this device, it didn't work. Oddly, the lights on the port indicated that the port was receiving a signal.Checking in the network preferences, the status "ethernet not connected" showed up when the ethernet cable was plugged in to this device. But most odd was, unlike the other devices I've used to connect an ethernet cable, this device shows a TELEPHONE symbol when it is plugged in! I wonder if that's the reason - they simply confused "telephone" with "ethernet" wiring? This 4 port device (2 USB ports, an HDMI port and an ethernet port, is rather "small" in the number of ports it offers (no SD card slot, no USB-C, for example) so one might think that with less sophistication and power needs, it would work well and dependably. It didn't.The lights show everything is working, but obviously, the lights don't mean anything since the ethernet port is not working. In any event, this is going in the trash bin.
