Q: The box says this has lights and sounds? I see no where to hit a button or where batteries would go. Is this true?

It does not have batteries. There r lights but they dont light up. It does make a sound when you r pulling it back. Doors also open.

Q: How do you close the side door? After pushing it open, I haven't been able to close it.

Hi, Please check the bottom of the doors, there is a little handle can rotating to close the door.

When u pull it back and let it go it playes the music and the lights come on. I had to take the battery out because it was to.loud and you cant turn it off.
