Great value for money
I have brought much more expensive steam irons than this and this one beats the lot . It's so easy to use and reasonably lightweight for the price. It irons really well and quickly . It also has an easy removal limescale cartridge that's easy replaced . Really recommend and such good value for money .

Easy to use
This iron is very light to use. Plenty of steam but you have to keep your finger on the button whilst you use it. Would have liked it to fit more securely into the base when not in use. It is good value for the money.

Straight forward and easy to use
This was the second steam generator iron I have had, the first one was NOT a Russell Hobbs, it did not perform well, the sole plate started to deteriorate. So under Amazon extremely good service I was able to return it for a full refund. So based on this experience I went for the slightly more expensive Russell Hobbs with a stainless steel sole plate. I have used this iron several times, each time doing a full load of ironing. The size of the water container is great as it does not need to be refilled. The iron does not need to be placed higher than the ironing board, as with the previous iron I had.Water tube and flex are a good length. The iron itself will stand on the ironing board, although somewhere I had read it wouldn't, however, it is always better to put it back on its stand.Steaming is easy, and I have found that if you let go of the steam trigger just before you finished your run on the item, the steam still continues for a couple of seconds, and you don't get the steam room effect in the kitchen when you lift the iron. Also I haven't noticed the items are too damp, as I had also previously seen. All in all I am very pleased with this iron.

great iron
I am in a wheel chair so must sit down to iron. This is a very light iron so great for me. The steam output is very good which is important because I often delay doing the ironing so clothes are very dry. Also the tank gives plenty of water for the whole load. I've only used it a couple of times but at this moment I am delighted with it. I can't understand the complaint some people have with it but for now it's the best.

Lulled into a false sense of security!
First impression was this was a great iron…the best we’ve ever had. It steamed through sheets, meaning no need to turn them and iron the other side. It cut down ironing time by at least a half. But as time went on the steam reduced, the ironing became harder. I approached Russell Hobbs who replaced the iron free of charge. Now the same has happened after less than a year. We have followed the instructions…we have replaced the filters like we are supposed to. Frankly it’s not worth the money.

Can affect eyes but otherwise a good product
This is a good steam iron for the price and does the work very well. However, there is a long blue LED light at the top of the grip handle and when moving the iron back and forth across the laundry it gives off a strobing effect. Its hard to ignore so I’ve covered it with a black tape. The handle does get warm causing the tape to lift after a time, so it has to be replaced on occasion. The light seems to serve no purpose and is there only for design effect.
