This is glossy it is not a matte finish. It's a nice color and it dries in about 2 minutes .

Q: Would this polish be a good choice for a small dog? :)

This polish dries quickly. I do not know if it has any toxic qualities that would affect the dog. Personally I have used polish on 1 toe to identify newborn pups, but would never polish a dogs nails for the look.

Q: how can I thin this? it's so thick, the brush has globs of color. I've never used before and can use some help. Thanks

Try a little nail polish remover in the bottle. Shake it up with the polish and it should thin it out. Just a couple of drops.
