DIST-LED746P Precessed Low Profile LED Light

I replaced two 746 recessed fluorescent light fixtures with the new LED versions. They fit perfectly and were easy to install. I love their brightness adjustability, and the full brightness setting is very bright!As noted in the description, the switch is not just a simple on/off switch. It is a spring-loaded, momentary switch that controls advanced functions.Briefly, it operates like this: From off, push the switch once and the light goes to a mid-brightness setting. Push it again and it goes to full brightness. Push it again and the light ramps down to off.With the fixture on at any brightness level, push and hold the switch and it will slowly ramp down to off. You can stop it at any point while the brightness is ramping down.For fixtures that are controlled by a wall switch, once you set the brightness level where you want it using the momentary switch in the fixture, you can turn the light off using the wall switch and it will turn back on at the same brightness level when you use the wall switch to turn it on.

Works good. Matches the fluorescent recessed fixtures exactly, has rocker switch dimmer feature, and draws about .5 an amp less with no dimmer/ full brightness. This is better than paying $32 for ballasts or $48 for the 746 fluorescent fixtures every few years.

A little expensive but worth it. Very good quality and easy install.

Awesome replacement for the fluorescent model.

Simple to install as a replacement for flourescents and the two brightness settings make it ideal for the kitchen, dining and living area of our motorhome.

These LED units are listed by the manufacturer as a replacement fir the fluorescent 746’s. That’s not exactly true. In the 746F, if the light has power applied with the switch in the ON position, the ballast will activate and the light will come on (with all parts working). In the 746LED, the switch is a dimmer so there is no ON position, requiring the user to manually start the lamp every time light is desired.This doesn’t sound like a big deal but my RV is set up with 3 each 746F’s along the ceiling. Flip a switch at the entry door and the interior of the coach is illuminated. I can’t get the same effect from the 746LED’s so I have effectively wasted over $300 on fixtures that are not what the manufacturer says they are. Not criticizing the dealers, just pointing out that the manufacturer does not understand the context in which their products are used.
